DO NOT want cowher, I'll put him up there with Jeff fisher as one of the most overrated coaches in. Long time.

I don't want the same old thing out there. Lovie smith is the only rehashed coach I would consider, but I think shaw should be the priority. I wouldn't mind sumlin but not my first choice.

Yeah I pretty much agree with this.

I'm at a total loss. There is not a coach that jumps out at me right now. Yes, I'm sure there are good coaches available. Who, though?

No matter who, what, when or where, fire Kubiak now.

Sumlin has ridden the coattails of of two great college QB's who he didn't even recruit.

Sumlin once again is not an option, a proven no nonsense coach is what is needed. Im still leaning toward Jack Del Rio, Rex Ryan def co.

There is absolutely no way that Bob McNair would hire Rex Ryan. He doesn't have the Texans' character.

Who's running Arizona's defense? May be worth a look... they've done great things there this year with a combo of young players/vets up front, and clearly have handled the AFC South.

Agreed... he's basically just coaching up John Fox's defensive schemes.

The Arizona DC intrigues me... especially if they continue their success this year, as besides Peterson there really are no household names on that squad.

I also think they need to find the type of coach that designs game plans to either exploit a team's weakness, or take away a team's strengths... too many coaches fall in love with what they do, and once teams figure it out... they're SOL.

Coaches with success AND longevity have shown that above quality more so than any other trait.

Why don't we list characteristics we want.

    1. I want NFL experience, no college coaches

    2. A fiery temperament, but not too fiery. Don't want another yard ornament on the sidelines.

    3. Creative and flexible, a must. Some fresh ideas.

    4. Picks first class assistants and holds them accountable, holds everyone accountable.

    5. Eye for talent, doesn't make friends with players, best performer plays.

    6. Insists on first rate special teams, innovative defensive schemes, and gunslinger offense. Wants to move the chains, fast.

    7. Straight up, no nonsense, no spin, tough.

    How old is Bill Parcells?

I didnt say jdr def co, i said hc although i think he would be better than wade. Jdr would kick ass and take names if you didnt fall in line you would be gone. Jdr is a far i mean not even close a better option than Sumlin.

Time to find the next Parcells/Cowher... give a young fiery coordinator a chance and let him grow into the job.

Depending on if we totally clean house on coaches and players, I prefer we go promoting coordinator route instead of going after retired broadcasting coaches. What do you guys think of Seattle defensive coord Dan Quinn, or New Orleans offensive coord Pete Carmichael? Long shot but meh... go 1-1 pick!!!
