Unfortunately, there are so many of them: Man-Gino Vlade Pretty much all of the Mavericks Masden Gasol
I was arguing (more like wasting time) with a guy at lakersground who was claiming that Francis was a flopper. His reasoning was that he was able to draw flagrant fouls from Shaq by throwing his body to the ground after the collisions. The funniest part of the story is that the guy's moniker was madsen something.
I'd say Najera. And although he's not even in the Top 5, I'll mention Mo Taylor. He flops a lot in the paint and usually gets the offensive foul called on the opposing player. Kind of a tough situation to be in as a Rockets fan since you're happy he forced the turnover, yet he's employing the same annoying tactics as the Jazz for all those years we hated them.
Being a flopper is one thing, but getting good defensive position is another. I've never seen MoT flop, but if you watch Vlade, you can see the artistry in it. Basically get right up behind a physical post player and stand on your heels. Wait for them to knock you off balance and jump backwards. That skinny SG we had at the bench last year was a pretty big flopper. Btw, I think one of the reasons that Shaq respects Yao is that Yao does not try to flop as part of how he defends Shaq.
exactly. during the rox/mavs game today there was a point in the third or fourth quarter (can't remember) where two players flopped at the exact same time while defending two different people. it was strange lookin'. "thunder" dan and elliot mentioned it briefly when it happened. good that the refs called neither one a charge. the best individual flopper? though i hate to say it because he's my all-time favorite player... sam cassell.
The Mavs whole defensive strategy revolves around flopping. Other than them, I'd probably have to go with Divac.
Even though I hated Stockton and his flopping, at least he was small enough to make things as believable as possible. Floppy DiFlops is the biggest flopper in the NBA because he's a freakin' 7 footer at 200-something pounds and he flops against guards. Now that is annoying and total BS.
It's Derek Fisher, he stole the mantle of best flopper from Stockton several years ago and just kept running. It's really quite remarkable. Reggie Miller has to be given some credit for taking Flopping to a whole new level by being the first person to consistently flop on offense.
Definitely Divac. My cousin is a big Kings fan, and he doesn't even deny that Divac flops. He says that is just crafty defense though, so he has no problem with it.
Madsen, Najera, Nash, Ginobli, Parker, Divac The most rediculous looking one (when he flops) out of them all is Madsen. najera is the one I hate most.
