Texans fans... who has the most VALUE: JJ Watt or Brian Cushing?

With his absence in the second half of the Seahawk's game, Brian Cushing's void may be something we're not used to seeing or adjusting... and he was a main reason why the defense has collapsed in both the end of the game and in the latter part of last season without him...

On JJ Watt's part, there's been no other pass rush or even threats if he's doubled or if he's not existant.

So... whom do you think is more valuable... Watt or Cushing?

    I say CUSHING.

JJ appears to affect the game more, but for some reason whenever Cushing goes out we turn to ****.

As for Pure Value, Watt. No question.

As far as who's more irreplaceable on this particular team, maybe Cushing by a little bit. Losing JJ would definitely hurt. But it seems like there's less depth behind Cushing. We've seen what this team looks like without him and it's not pretty.

Cush is the leader of the defense while JJ is the anchor. Without Cush we turn into doodoo. It is no coincidence that Russ kept getting out and going for huge gains after Cush went out.

JJ IMO affects the game a bit more which is why he's the best DPOY in the NFL today. Cushing is a bit more irreplaceable though like Cannonball said because the Texans don't have much depth at LB. I'd give the nod to Watt in terms of football value, but for the Texans it's probably Cushing.

We need better LBs behind Cushing. I voted Watt, but thinking back on it, it's probably Cushing. Looking at a team like SF, Patrick Willis I think is more integral than Justin Smith.

It's Watt. We're biased to saying Cushing because he has been out way more and we've seen the defense struggle. But I shudder to think what would happen if Watt went out.

Which has more value: Oxygen or Water?

You may live longer with one without the other, but unless you have them both... You're ****ed in the long run.

JJ Watt will become the highest paid defensive player in the NFL when he becomes a free agent. So there you go.

To other teams, Watt. To the Texans, probably Cushing.

This is like Astros' fans debating Bagwell or Biggio, to the team, they are both irreplaceable.

Profootball focus studies every play of every game...and their constant analysis has been that Watt is the most dominating force. In fact, the game against the Titans where Cushing had monster numbers, they said he actually wasnt that good because he missed on a lot of assignments.

No doubt, Cushing is a huge part of our defense, but Watt is the most valuable defender on our team.
