I think he would be the ideal (and most realistic) starting PF for us to go after at this point. He obviously posseses all the athletecism that Adelman would be looking for, gets up and down the court with ease, rebounds, can score, and would always have highlight reel put-back dunks for us. Played all but 1 game last season, averaged 13.5 pts., 7.7 rebs., 1 asst, .8 steals, and .5 blocks. in 31.5 mins per game. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/chris_wilcox/index.html What would be the pros and cons be with this guy? What do think it would take to get him, since I'd imagine he's going to get more than the full MLE? What is his FA status and possible contract demands?
If there is any way we can get him w/o giving up Battier (which there probably isn't) I think the Rockets would definitely be more of a contender. With T-Mac/Yao/Battier/Wilcox/Rafer and Wells/James off the bench the Rockets would be a serious threat.
Overpaid Uninspired Hard to get his motor running No range No leadership No court vision Marginal rebounder -especially for someone so "athletic" and "big Marginal man to man defender Slow on help defense Doesnt change many shots Poor weakside presence HORRIBLE shot blocker considering his size and quickness to elevate questionable work ethic No go to moves Cant create own shot Best suited for NBA Live or NBA 2K But ya. The majority of this forum would hand over Battier for Wilcox. God knows why
then who else?... i keep going through the lists of realistic attainable pfs and he seems like one of the most probable ones.... i would love rasheed but thats not that possible
Since he's not a FA, maybe he'd do an extension for us in a SnT. But I agree, as long as we don't give up Battier in the deal, I'd be all for it as well. They could have some combination of Head, Alston, V-Span, Sura, Novak, Snyder, next year's picks even...
WIlcox is the best option. He would be just a great additions for our team. Athetic, good blocker and rebonder just great. Come on Morey! DO IT!
Dont add to the misconception! Its spreading like wildfire! He is 6'10" with explosiveness and 30in+ vertical. Yet he is a HORRIBLE ATROCIOUS JOKE of a shot blocker.
Wilcox would be a good addition at PF IMO, not sure I would want to give up Battier though. But this is where the draft could have came in and helped, I would be much more willing to trade Battier if we drafted a guy like Tucker. But by drafting another PG, we are still thin at SF and really can't look at trading Battier.
Well maybe you're right. But he is a good PF player who can even hit a wide open jumper. He is so athletic and we need that Maybe he isin't good blocker, my mistake sorry
I can't get the ESPN trade machine to accept any of my deals. I guess Wilcox is a BYC player as of now, when that BYC come off then? http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trademachine?teams=25~10&players=825~11~1731&sendto=25~25~10&from=10~10~25
Ziggy is right. He should be a much better shotblocker.I also agree with everything you said about him in your previous post. He is better than Stro but not by much.
I cannot believe I am waisting my 200th post on a guy who doesnt even know Wilcox is not a free agent. Why do you post if you obviously have no knowledge of the situation.
