I'm rooting for the Rockets here. If Shaq/Wade win it, it's a statement of the future of the NBA. Allstar center + Allstar wing = Championship. Or, the Mavs win and we can look at that and say that we played with them in that 7 game series of 2005. Either way, it can be seen as good news for the Rockets. We are a lot like the Heat and almost beat the Mavs without a PF. This is a good matchup for us. The teams that we're furthest from being like lost already (Suns, Detroit, San Antonio).
Exactly my thinking if the Heat win it i gives me so much confidence with a better center and an equal to or better wing we can do it!
I'm almost embarrassed to say that I'm rooting for Dallas. But more than anything, I'm rooting for a good series. The playoffs so far this year have really delivered. A great Finals would top off what has been (except for the Rockets woes) a great year for the NBA.
For the Rockets sake, I hope Dallas wins. The Rockets have just started to realize this past season that they need to get younger/faster, they need to start developing their players, and they need a more balanced attack. A Mavs victory would reinforce all of that, which is good for the long term future of this team. For Miami to win with essentially a 2-man team and a bunch of veteran role players in their 30’s that basically stand around at the 3-point line (JWill, Posey, Walker, Payton, Mourning), I fear will totally screw up how the Rockets approach this offseason. Miami winning would be fool’s gold. If Mcgrady has to carry the Rockets the way Wade has to carry Miami, his body will deteriorate within 2 seasons, just like Wade’s body will.
Dallas. Because: 1: I like Nowitzki(i liked him when he and nash and finley played the Jazz in the first round) 2: a good friend of mine is for the Heat. 3: i do not want shaq to win another championship. 4: I Hate walker(however i do like wade)
I don't want Dirk to win one, and I don't want Shaq to win another one. However, my Marquette pride breaks the tie... go Wade...
the lesser of two evils eh? bush or busher? hmmm... two owners that are trying to buy a championship. i can't stand Shaq or the Diggler or Cuban or Riley. it's kind of like going all the way to the conference finals and losing and the team from the other conference is one that you absolutely hate. you would never root for a team you lost to, but you could also never root for a hated team either. oh well, if it's not the Rockets then who the hell cares? i'll just leave it at that and pretend to be happy for the winning team. or not.
My wife is wearing a Dirk jersey to work tomorrow (kinda required), but I am already laughing at her, telling her Miami will win it. Miami, at home in 6.
I rooting for the Mavs. Plain and simple they are a Texas team. If the Rockets are not in then I am rooting for either Mavs or Spurs. BTW...if the Mavs win can any other state claim to have produced a champion in every single city that has an NBA team...much less all in the last 12 years.
Cuz we hate Dirk even more. Speaking of hate ....saw karl malone on tv at the stros game....says he has always been a astros fans...kinda made me feel weird
