They honestly need a new scoring system, as 50 is too easy for these guys nowadays. Gordon's two dunks in the final rounds should've gotten something like 60, while LaVine deserved something like 53-55. With 50 being the max, it unfortunately went to overtime. Easier method : You can give like 10 for the dunk itself and then 2 extra points for creativity, in which cause Gordon would've easily won.
Problem is the judges...there's always one or two, who are too quick to judge top high or low, and then they have to over compensate... They should lets fans vote. Everyone dunks once, vote. Remaining 3 dunk, vote. Then remaining two each get two dunks, vote.
True. They throw out tens too easily and they paint themselves in a corner. Gordon's under the legs dunk should have won it for him. That was an amazing and creative dunk
First regular dunk (spinning) should've been Gordon 50, Lavine 49. For second one though, Gordon's may seem the best dunk out there, but windmill from almost FTL is inhuman itself. In extra period, Lavine won clearly though.
I'm not going to vote. It should have been a tie for Co-Champs. BUT Gordons dunks were just minor twists off of dunks that have been done before and everyone everywhere talking about they have never been done before. I've also seen much smaller amateur dunkers do that dunk a billion times so i wasn't really amazed but of course i enjoyed it overall. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bPMofDGR9JM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Should've been co champion Freethrow line dunks look much more impressive though imo, actually looks like he's flying
The AST took like, 10 tries though. I guess it wasn't planned beforehand. Nash should should have had a jersey underneath. When he rips off his clothes, the crowd would go bonkers.
Agree that liked Gordon's dunk better. Maybe should change judging scores and have one for artist and one for technical merit like they have for figure skating.
