There is like 100 singers listed so far

But y'all still haven't listed my favorite of all time

Maybe it's because I'm Irish and....uh... I have a thing for short hair

    Sinead O'Connor

I still have no idea what Mandinka means...and I don't care

I also consider Sinead to be the sexiest performer I've ever seen live

Lion and the Cobra is one of my favorite all time albums. But I have to say, Mandinka is not one of my favorite songs. I like Troy much better, she really cranks up the pipes at around the 3:20 mark of the song.

I always thought that the girl from the Cranberries sounded like a tame Sinead O'Conner.

Not sure if I've missed it but Norah Jones is really good.

Amy Winehouse was amazing. If you don't know then just listen.

Here is a lesser known singer that has a fantastic voice. Lily Meola who is from Hawaii.

I never really considered her. Whenever I think of Bernadette Peters I think of Steve Martin and "The Jerk".

definitely sinead o'connor...as time has gone by her influence and importance has really been obscured. she pretty much kick-started that whole lilith fair 90's girl power stuff...alanis morissette, cranberries, sarah mclaughlin, tori amos, ani difranco...sinead kicked down the door for all them hoes.

and you think about artistically where for example, miley cyrus is at right now and here is sinead at roughly the same age...22 or so. some pretty heavy s***.

also, suprised nobody has mentioned elizabeth frazier from cocateau twins yet. probably my all-time favorite vocalist...

For such an awkward person Sinead had such a powerful voice and wasn't afraid to use it on stage. If she wasn't so wheels off when she wasn't singing I really think she would have been considered one of the all time greats.

Not the strongest vocalist by any means, but Janet Jackson will always be #1 right here.

She hits that right balance of sweetness, vulnerability and sexy, though.

New album is pretty damn good too.
