I've seen several people post about trading Lou Williams and it makes no sense to me. Why would we? We gave up a 1st for him and he's an incredible scorer off the bench. I don't see them moving Him, it would be very stupid.

I would like to see Lou moved if we can sign a better guard this off season (or ultimately a max player if Anderson is dumped as well). Moving him alone would open up about 19 mill in cap space (we currently have about 12). With that kind of cap room we could afford to give a player a 4/80 contract (which is about enough money to sign a solid starter these days).

I think Lou can be moved for a 2nd (around 40th pick range). If we did something like that, we would have essentially traded Brewer to move back 10-15 spots in the draft, as well as a Lou rental for our playoff runs, which seems like a fair deal.

Lou is a terrible defender, and isn't a playmaker. We really need better perimeter defense, and we could really use another playmaker on this team. So that's why I personally wouldn't mind dumping him for a mid 2nd if we can sign a better defensive and passing PG with our cap space.

i agree; it doesn't make any sense to trade him if you are in win-now mode. seasoned vet coming off his best shooting season; instant offense off the bench on a value contract. Yes there is some redundancy with Gordon, but you want to stock pile those kinds of players, not trade them away.

i'd argue that we need to address inconsistency at Anderson and Ariza's rotation spots before we start talking about trading Lou for a bag of peanuts. If Anderson had played anywhere remotely close to what is contract demands, we might have pulled off the SA series. Anderson is the problem; we need to address it. All that money for that guy. many of us knew it at the time; huge mistake on Morey.

i still wake up with night terrors about the Anderson contract. My girlfriend has to cuddle me back to sleep, stroke my hair gently, and tell me that everything is gonna be alright. Sometimes i find myself yelling Anderson-related things at strangers, which really throws people for a loop, since i live in DC.

Anderson needs to take some of that big contract and donate it to trauma victims ...of his own signing. My life will never be the same. The loved ones around me lives will never be the same. Every tall goofy looking white guy's life will never be the same.

Blake Griffin without a doubt is who we should be calling everyday to play in Houston. Blake Griffin would be the perfect side kick for Harden. He is someone we can rely on that pick and roll to just hammer it over bodies but can stretch out the floor as well.

Go for Ingles and Speights as they are potentially realistic targets. Try to clear out cap room for Millsap.

Mo Speights could be a cheaper floor
spacer, and could help us out when Ryan goes dry.

we should go after another 20m per bricking specialist, i mean shooting specialist. make all the casual fans believe we got a big 3 going with harden, ryan and whoever.

but on lou, im all for trading him IF its something as valuable in return. we need help with perimeter d. if we can find one for lou we shouldn thesitate. if there's not much morey can get in return than keep him and wait till the deadline. he's in a contract year right after a career year, so i doubt he'll flop next season and there will be enough good offers for him

I was thinking about this and in general I think we should just sign the best Forward we can sign. Whoever is the best player available at the Forward spot. I think we should seek people who are capable defensively on switches and picknroll's. Whatever weaknesses and strengths he may have, we can tweak the offense to suit. But we have to get one more really good defensive player, no doubt.

Does Griffin actually fit into an MDA offense? He doesn't have the range required for his typical stretch 4, and he's not big enough (and might not want to play as) for a center. Add on top his injury issues, and he's a pass for me.

We're also going to have to make some tough decisions on Lou, Ariza & Bev. How will they fit into the picture if we look to make a major addition like Milsap or Ibaka? Will our window essentially be 2017/18? I'd much rather make a trade for a guy like Tyson Chandler, resign Nene, and give it a 2nd run.

Rockets need another great passer, preferably tall (forward or center), that has the touch from the 3 or corner 3s. Bonus if he has post moves, can run ahead for the fast break and can catch harden's long throws.

Toronto has said they're moving towards the 3 pt shooting. The rockets can maybe do a sign and trade for Serge and Anderson.

    Headliners:

Gallo/J. Johnson one of these guys would be great both would be awesome....

Ersan Ilyasova....redundant to Ryno but still a good stretch...

    R. Covington

The only big I feel would be a realistic get is Jeff Lauvergne..... I think he could really flourish with us...

    Bargains:

    Gerald Green

    Luke Babbitt

    Anthony Morrow

    Omri Casspi

Glad someone addressed the actual issue!! We are better with almost any starting forward replacing ryno in the playoffs. He was a mistake and Ariza isn't as bad but needs less minutes and a future replacement, now! Keep Lou and Gordon!! Be stupid to let the best 6 man players in the NBA.

There are a few players I dream the Rockets could get (KD, PG 13, Griffin, Hayward), but the OP wanted realistic options and we don't have much cap room. I would like the Rockets to try and get Speights from LAC or Reed from Miami to back up Capela and Simmons from the Spurs to back up Ariza (though Troy Williams does look promising). I know there is a lot of worry at the PF spot, but we have hope Dekker/Harrell gets better. If Harrell could develop a mid range game (I know we want 3pt shooters) that would be awesome. If you get Speights he can slide to PF and shoot 3s. Draft a Kennedy Meeks who has size and can rebound and also a wing G/F that is another 3&D guy. We need more guys that our coach has the confidence to play. The Warriors and Spurs went deep into their bench, when Nene was hurt we only used 7 players and we are trying to play a fast paced game, :(

Milsap is too old to be giving max contracts to... He's 32 ffs. Blake is 28 and would be in his prime if it weren't for injuries.

We're going to have to gamble anyways if you want to win in this era of super teams. You might as well do it with Blake. He was a potential MVP candidate when CP3 got hurt. He is a good passer and has developed a 3pt shot and is one of the best P&R bigs in the league.

Morey better be calling Blake non-stop and CF better pray that CP3 leaves the Clippers so they'll blow it up. Rumors are Pat Riley is going hard after Griffin and it's going to be hard to compete with them.

We'll also need to deal Ryno so we have space to sign him.
