That is absolute nonsense. SJL is a national joke, a certifiable loon, and a complete and utter moron, but she's gerrymandered the hell out of her district and packed it full of black people who vote for her without a second thought.

When you have Obama getting 100% of the vote in some black districts there is no other explanation than that black people are voting for the black person.

Stop making excuses. Any demographic that reliably votes over 85% for the Dem candidate, especially a black Dem candidate, is voting at least in part based upon racial motivation. It's absurd to argue otherwise.

 

And Major, I used to be one of her constituents. It's one of the many reasons why I moved.

Where does it say Wilson claimed to be Black? Most of the voters never saw a picture of him, so to see a flier that says he has support in the Black community, automatically means he must be too?

You've made a lot of spectacularly incorrect posts here, but this one might take the cake. You don't seem to understand the basic difference between correlation and causation..

Of course she's a national joke - that has nothing to do with her district's opinion of her. Michelle Bachmann and Dennis Kucinich are national jokes too, but their districts love them.

And yes, SLC's district is gerrymandered with a bunch of black people (BTW, the Republican state legislature controls the gerrymandering, not her). It's also filled with Democrats. They don't vote for SJL because she's black - they vote for her because she's a Democrat.

If you had a white Democrat running vs a black Republican, the Democrat would still win in that district. That means they are NOT voting by race, but by party.

"There is no other explanation"? Really? How about this. Those same districts voted by nearly the same margins for Bill Clinton. The explanation is simply: they vote for the Democrat. It's fairly obvious given the long history of black people voting for white candidates.

Your argument would be like me saying white Republicans voting for Romney or McCain or Bush means they just vote for white people. It just shows a total lack of understanding of basic statistics or any understanding of the population you're talking about.

Nope you're wrong. Blacks didn't vote for Alan Keyes, Presidential candidate Herman Cain or Alan West.

Blacks vote for white Democrats over Black Republicans. Believe it or not, whites aren't the only ones capable of looking at issues and voting based on issues and stances rather than just skin color. If you want to keep making insulting comments based on race like your supposition that blacks vote because of race over other issues then I'd say that isn't the best path forward.

 

Honestly, the main advantage here is having the last name Wilson. If an Asian candidate had the last name Wilson, he can pretend he is black or white.

 

I'm real curious how she managed to do this. A better characterization might be that Republicans dumped all the excess Democratic votes in her district so they could win all the other ones.
