I say one of the more important things we have to do this summer is get a first round pick to give memphis. I don't like the idea of giving them the #15, because that's obviusly the second best availalable pick we could give them. But as far as I know, we could offer good teams with low first rounders W. Williams, then take care of the obligation. I'm thinking realistically next year we might not make the playoffs, and if so, then I'd like to keep our lottery pick thank you very much.
to bad nobody told you yet, hehe youll find out soon on this thread what the exact range of pick is exceptable to memphis obligation, and its not lower first round,ok ill tell you,it has to be top 15,perfect we get 15 ,send it,i know we wont get odom,so no playoffs next year,so we might get james..send the pick unless its used to move up
The only way to send Memphis a worse pick than that #15 is if we gamble on next year and finish the season well-seeded in the playoffs. Of course, it looks like the Rockets are considering whether it might be better to have multiple picks this year and lose a better pick next year. I think that may well be true.
as i understand it we have to give them a pick this year or next and it has to be within 2 picks of our own so we either give them 15 now or take a chance on being good next year (or possibly trading for another pick within 2 of ours to give them). and unless we have a repeat of the major injuries this year we will not be getting james. from what you hear he's pretty much consensus number 1 next year.
