Pudelfor-In the NFL, with the salary crap and all, to be good, you have to be bad first. That explains all this "parity".
They have been for the last 3 years, and they're doormats this year to. Both Cincinnati and San Diego are better teams then Dallas. Besides, Tennessee was 8-8 for like 2 years straight, then the 3rd year they stormed to the Superbowl. And by the way kidrock, people were saying the same thing about Saint Louis 3 years ago, they were perennial doormats battling Cincinnati for the worst record in the 90s.
RM-That's my whole point. The bad teams become good because usually, the bad teams don't run into the salary cap problems, of the good teams in the past ala Dallas and SF. The only team that was good before the cap, and managed to maintain success to today has been the GB Packers. There will never be a dynasty in the NFL. The Titans are proof. 2 good years, and then mediocrity. A good team can never keep their talent, because they go off to get more $ from a Cleveland or Cincy. Yes, the Cowboys suck right now. But you don't seem to know why. They have 1/3rd of their salary cap used up on players who don't even play for them anymore, ala Deion, Irvin, etc. If you gave the Cowboys 20 mill to spend on salaries for this year, they would be pretty good. That's 4 or 5 top tier FA's the Cowboys can buy. In the NFL, to win you have to sacrafice the future to win today. The Cowboys did that in the mid-90s and are paying dearly for it now.
