There is actually a seemingly trans guest (with butt implants) at the resort in the Maldives I'm staying at. I applaud this person's courage to travel here and be "out". Takes balls (lol). Also, a few gay couples here.

MAGA types fear they or their children might be further victimized by the minuscule number of trans folks. How are your nuts hanging? Don’t go trans if you don’t wanna, I don’t pay attention to them, why do you? My three sons are all straight masculine badasses, what are you doing wrong?
I think the fear is still that people do truly believe that sexuality is a choice. And that people are groomed into being homosexual or transexual or whatever other deviance from the cultural norms by older deviants given the relative "explosion" in the number of people self-identifying as LGBTQ. But I suspect that it's due to acceptance than anything else, and these people always existed but were wholly hidden.
