Well that's just the problem isn't it? You have a fiscally irresponsible party, and a really fiscally irresponsible party. Given that most support one of those, it's kind of hard to expect much conversation about actual fiscal responsibility.
Well they are different, it's just that they are both bad when it comes to fiscal responsibility. Being fiscally irresponsible is essentially the only thing the two parties agree on.....but they disagree on how to go about being irresponsible.
This assumes they wont be part of the millions who die because of the tax cuts. Also remember the internet will be dead so they really have nothing to look forward to. What all these people had in common was that they were all under the impression they would pay more in taxes. They probably were fed the same bullshit most the posters here read.
Yep. 3 for 3. Every one of them thought taxes would go up and instead they went down by quite a bit. This coming from far left leaning CBS. You could see the disappoint on the reporter's face. They should do more of this. Have 3 accountants too, not one.
What did they say regarding how much their insurance premiums will rise thanks to the repeal of the individual mandate? How much did the accountants say they would save over their life spans after the lower class tax cuts expire?
Barring heavy SALT deductions, most will see a modest tax break with increased annual post tax income of $1,000-3,000 dollars. Or an extra $50 on their paycheck. For comparison, Apple will make an extra $40+ billion in post tax income. Our cuts last a few years. The corporation’s are permanent until legislation changes it. This is why the bill is very unpopular. It doesn’t matter if you get an extra $50 on your paycheck when you see these giant corporations making record breaking profits and getting an even bigger break. Trump rode a populist wave into the White House and the first major legislative achievement the GOP gives him is fairly anti populist. Ironic. The GOP will be bragging about this tax cut and having to gut the safety net to help bring down this impending deficit from the tax law while Democrats will be talking about reimplementing CHIP and helping Dreamers. I know who wins this policy debate. (Clue: sick kids will get their health insurance)
But we can blame the GOP for not properly funding ACA and intentionally causing premiums to be higher than they need to be.
why would he tell them that they got a lot richer? my president said this was going to cost him and them money! BELIEVE ME, I'm in shambles right now. must be fake news.
This tax bill is going to hurt charity organizations like the HLSR. Most people won't be able to write off their donations. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/h...ions-under-the-republican-tax-bill-2017-12-22
LOL. Yes, damn near everyone's taxes are going down. We all know this. 1) The tax cuts for individuals, mostly those outside of the highest earning brackets, are temporary 2) The tax cuts for non-individuals are permanent 3) The majority of the tax reductions are focused on the top 5% of earners in the country (estate tax, AMT, investment, interest earned, etc) 4) These tax cuts will lead to dramatically decreased social services and infrastructure spending which will in turn create a net wealth reduction for the middle class and beyond ________ This is the same old trickle down garbage that has been tried and failed. It will have the same damned results. Luckily nobody is fooled this time around, and there will be enormous political consequences for the Republican party in 2018 and 2020 as this bill is wildly unpopular.
