People will care about all Rockets players
The question is why is one player being overhyped

    I'm rooting for the guy.

But he hasn't been showing up in games. He's too gentle. Definitely needs either more exposure to NBA games or more mentoring/training.

it's nice that he's on the bench and as much as I love him.. he needs to just work on his game in the D-league for a few months.

Like I said before, until this kid gets assertive and stronger, he won't be playing unless the game is out of hand.

He is a 21year old 2nd round pick. He dominated inferior leagues on size

Soooo finished product? And when he makes a 3, then what?

How about we enjoy the journey a bit more... I liked that he had 2 rim runs, 1st tried a layup and missed. 2nd he emphatically slammed it down. Still solid defense, still good touch on his shots and free throws.

Geez, let’s root for the guy.

tinman, you are clearly not on the side of the Rockets player. Which is strange. Because it's a hard working, well mannered, quiet young kid.

If I list out a few people who missed 10 3pters (ignoring that in reality Qi has missed only 6 regular season attempts), will you then completely turn around your attitude towards this young ROCKETS player? If not then please don't send me on a wild goose chase, we're having a civil conversation here.

    That's your perception and imagination.

You forget that I saw him miss double digit 3 pointers in summer league again summer league competition, where he was just camping at the 3 point line against G league competition.

I'm one of the first Clutchfans to actually see him play live in the USA.

You can list as many players as you want who have missed 10 3 pointers, but none of them have been heralded as a fantastic shooter with great touch as they do here without tangible stats in the NBA that proves this. He's been said to be the next Porzingis, he's said to replace Clint Capella, etc.
I'm just waiting for the proof for these lofty and false observations.

I'm rooting for him to make a 3 because he hasn't made one in the regular season.

You are projecting what 10-15 people have said onto the entire assessment of Qi. I don't know why you feel the need to dig your heels in on the subject of a young Houston Rockets player who is dedicated and hard working and has had a terrible start shooting-wise. It just makes no sense bro, you should be rooting for this dude instead of tip-toeing on technicalities about what you're debating. You've set up the parameters of this thing such that you will celebrate with an "I told you so" if a Rockets player fails and "woops" if he ends up excelling at shooting. I just don't get why a fan would want to do that unless THE PLAYER has disrespected THE ORGANIZATION.

Obviously I'm not going to dig up those stats if you're already saying "you can list as many as you want but...". It's a menial, time-consuming task that I will go through if you agree beforehand to change your stance completely if I dig it out. Otherwise, no benefit to either of us.

Enjoy this season bro. Don't waste time on the irrational couple dozen people you're describing.
