The dude is a negative factor every game he plays. WOAT as far as I can tell, gimme Dan Langhis scrub ass over this dolt. We are winning, but we may be undefeated if Brewer didnt shoot us out of contention in our losses. He reminds me of those matryoshka dolls, except every layer you peel back contains even more defecation and disappointment. Corey Brewer is like a halloween razor apple, on the outside looks good but when you taste it, you wish for death. I am a lifetime and forever Rockets fan but until we rid ourselves of what is possible the least skilled all time NBA player, more so than Popeye Jones, I will only buy the cheapest tickets possible and then move down to the lower bowl.
We were on an 18-0 run and he slips with the ball in the paint for a turnover that immediately halted our run.....dude is a 15th man at best. DD
Just like Joey Dorsey before him, Brewer gets way too much hate for someone who plays and shoots very little. He was a part of the bench that went on the crazy run. He is active on D he is just awful on offense.
Brewer's one of those guys who's a good presence in the lockerroom and who does just enough on the court that it warrants a lukewarm defense. But I feel like the bench units would look so much better if we replaced him with a competent NBA wing who can shoot. Sefolosha or Dunleavy would be a massive upgrade, IMO.
I believe this has something to do with his playing time (Plus/Minus +9.1 per 36 minutes) The guy is not very skilled at times but you can't argue against winning. Funny stat: We are 19-2 since Dec 1st. In the two loses those were the only games in which Brewer had less than 10 minutes played in either game (a total of 11 in both). We lost by a grand total of 8 points in both games.
homey shooting like 21% on 3's this year. on one hand, stop parking at the arc. and on the other, if you're a teammate then stop setting him up for 3's!!!!
Well to be fair the Rockets don't run plays for Brewer so it's not like Harden or Gordon or Beverley are looking to get Brewer a shot. Brewer is just taking shots because we need him to, even if it's a vain attempt to keep the defense honest.
he might as well weave an 8-pattern through the lane. maybe he'll get an occasional layup out of it. anything beats watching him clank that corner 3 over and over and over again
FWIW (small sample size and all), Brewer's Real Plus Minus is about neutral--a bit negative on offense and a small positive on D: http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/RPM/position/5 He is ranked 28th among SFs, next to the 27th ranked SF, and Rockets fans' favorite high-character/motor/bball iq, lunch pail sneaky athleticism guy Sam Dekker. Given all the starting and reserve wings out there, the stats seem to say that D'Antoni isn't entirely insane for having him on the court for a while.
I'd rather play KJ to be honest. At the very least he has room to improve, and he can shoot 30 percent from three.
