I was at tonight's game, and at halftime, just after Orlando had eviscerated us with a 27-8 run, a guy in line behind me at the food stand asked his friend, "When is it OK to boo? We're down 20 at the half. How bad does it have to get before the fans start booing?"

Chalk it up to the attitude lower-bowl snobs who may not really care about this team, but I heard similar sentiments throughout the halftime break and immediately thereafter. (The questioner's friend, for the record, had no answer as to if/when it was OK to boo.)

You don't boo a .500 team. Are the Rox a .500 squad? 8-15 in the new year? That translates to 29-53 over the course of a season. (Why didn't they start tanking earlier? Those fools! They wasted so much time by starting 20-13.)

Per my East Coast cousin, in Philadelphia it's OK to start booing right after the national anthem! And that was back in '01.

Never. You never boo the Rockets. No matter what.

Clutch, get this bozo off the board. Ban him already. I'm sick of this n00bie crap.

I wouldn't boo unless it was OBVIOUS that they just gave up...I didn't see that tonight.

They stopped playing defense a loooooong time ago, my friend.

And since defense is half the game, you might argue they're not playing with 100% effort.

season ticket holder for several years and I haven't boo'd once...

    never will

I cried when the Rockets lost regular season games when I was ~5. I know who I'm coming to watch each and every night, and if they don't have it that night that's ok. The world of sports is unpredictable at times. You should pick a team and stay with that team, or else I don't consider you a fan.

There is a difference between not trying and not able to play to play good D.

That's a good point. We just don't have the tools. (But how did we have the tools for the first 33 games?) Offense is more about skill; defense and rebounding are more about attitude and desire - coupled with a lot of skill, no doubt.

I don't think you should ever boo the Rockets. Some people single out players on a bad night, another thing I don't understand. You can't really expect our guys to go out there and have a great game every night.

Some dude next to me kept yelling kept yelling "we need landry" as if carl was sitting on the bench. Seriously, I know he was a good player, but its like yelling "we need Tmac".

I don't understand some "fans" BTW this guy left at halftime.

    "Get Red, Stay Red."
