When we played the lakers in the playoffs. We had Steve Francis and Yao and Jim Jackson choked on some three pointers.
When the universe was formed. Or during the Moses Malone era (it's hard to remember which). Actually, my semi-serious following of the Rockets started in the late 70s/early 80s. My first game attended was in the 82-83 season (14-68), and I really started following them fervently from that point on (first games in person tend to do that to you, I think, regardless of team record). Before that I had followed them sort of sporadically. Fortunately, the season that I attended my first Rockets game (the 82-83, 14-68 season), the Houston Cougars were on the rise with kids like Drexler and Olajuwon, so there was alternate basketball entertainment to fill the win column.
Yao's rookie season, I was in H town for the night on business. We decided to grab a couple of nosebleed seats at the Summit. It was then that I saw Yao for the first time and I immediately knew that although he had a lot of work in front of him that he'd be something special. Been watching every game since then.
