Reminds me of Kevin Love of sorts...can stuff up the stat sheet but can't really carry a franchise. Although Davis has gotten to the playoffs compared to Love but still not enough. And in all fairness, the talent around Davis has always been sub par minus Jrue Holiday. Just bad management and not so good coaching.

Anyone watched the third seed Blazers getting swept by Davis and Nola last postseason?

Who was the hero in the late 4th?

Also Davis is 25, for a big it's not too late.

Also I noticed Pelicans play alot better with Rondo in their lineup, now that Rondo is gone, they are not that consistent.

Jrue Holiday isn't freed to score.

Crazy numbers, little impact type. He's not changing the game as much as people think.

He's a freak of nature. Much like Giannis, and this applies to him too. They're just not legit. I think Davis in a different system is more impactful but no way the way the real tier 1 guys are like LeBron, KD, Harden, etc.

If he's serious about winning, he needs to look at Houston. He'd have a legit 3 for 2 years, and a dynamic is duo for 5. No state tax, a coach that'd make him crazy, and a GM thatll always keep him competitve.

His 4th quarter in dallas Friday was impressive. We defended him well all night last night.

Rockets had a great game plan, take away space in the perimeter and mix in double teams on the blocks. This is another thing that James does that so impressive. He makes great decisions/passes on double teams granted it’s easier to see it coming while bringing the ball up than in the post but James finds the open man.

Don't do the same thing to AD that everyone did to Harden. When your team sucks that bad and you play in the West, you are going to lose and play tired a lot of the time. When his teammates improve, his contribution to winning will "improve" and no one will give credit to the teammates.

Oh and I want to be clear: it's not about just having good players around you, it's also about the right fit. That's why Harden took Capela/Ryno/Ariza/Gordon to 50+ wins. Excellent fit. Still not good enough to win big. That's why Harden had his MVP season when Paul joined and his deepest playoff run. It matters a lot.

There's also the most important part: AD is just not as good as Harden yet. But he will be in that final tier once he gets a teammate who can lead at least on one end of the floor.

He's more like Garnett. Can't really create by himself, but put him with the right people, and he could win it all.

Which superstar since Hakeem has won it all by themselves?

Garnett never had a more prominent need for a superstar. He just had a greater deficit of star players with him. IIRC he went to the WCF with ageing Cassell and Sprewell.

Cassell was awesome and was an all-star that season when they went to WCF. He got injured the following year and Garnett didn't even make the playoff for the next 3 season. He never got out of the first round before Casell even though he played with Marbury and Chauncey Billups.

Cassell went to the Clippers, and guess what happened. The Clippers when to the playoff for the first time in 9 years, and won a playoff series for the first time since 1975.

Garnett is a second fiddle. A great second fiddle, but a second fiddle. You couldn't give him the ball and say create something for the team when the game is on the line.

As the primary player, he doesnt make his team a winner.

But put him as a second fiddle or a third option *gasp* on a team, and he would wreck havoc.

Well, we never really had that conversation about Tim Duncan, even when it happened during the Finals.

well there's no hiding anymore. In fact playing with Lebron and in LA he wil be scapegoated for any dissapointment.

He said that he is tired of noone paying attention to him and not critising him..he wil get his wish and more this year because everything will be exposed.

A player can't control what the media say, even if it is overwhelmingly positive. LA based Reporters, homers, or casuals who just hear Lebron & Davis. AD on cover if 2K. Finished filming Space Jam 2, life is good

Public can't resist the LA inter city rivalry.

AD is over hyped. But I don't blame AD personally, he and his camp aren't the ones saying he's top 5. These rankings come from media and fans.

Even the clippers, great on paper, on many's #1 list, but I'm not entirely convinced Kawaii can bring that Toronto magic back in year one. West is tougher. Not easy to instantly have chemistry. Paul George and Leonard are both new to the team and new to each other.

I low key expect Rockets better regular season than Lakers. Clippers is a wait and see.

We'll discuss it when we've grown to hated Anthony Davis.
