Morey will get blamed if/when the Gordon/Anderson get hurt and we wont be able to bring in someone via trade this year or FA next summer, thus losing his job.
It was even worse than that - in those first 11 games we would have been under a .500 win team even if we somehow magically started the game up by 10. We got mostly blown out for the first 15 games of last season.
MDA is not really the type for real beef. He would still smile in public. His reputation around the league is not that good, far from Phoenix good.
Ha. How many posters will predict a riff between Harden and MDA? That's the real point. True. He is a cover up artist.
Patrick Beverly, DMO, Anderson, Nene, Dekker and Gordon all get injured and are out at different times for long stretches, but we still win 45 games and then get destroyed in the first round.
I would be surprised if there was an MDA/Harden beef this season. It would certainly be a disaster if so(and would tear the team apart quickly) but I think Harden is probably MDA's last best chance to get back to his perch as the resident NBA coaching genius during his Phoenix days. I remember some sports insiders a while back saying MDA is the type of guy who is more concerned with his legacy and making a lasting impression on the league. Right now after two highly public disastrous stops in LA and NY, frankly D'Antoni can't afford to screw this one up too if he cares anything about his legacy. Plus, I got this weird feeling that D'Antoni and James are similar types of people - guys who revel in operating outside the norms. I think the likelihood is greater that they bond than clash.
Well, sure...that might happen. But no evidence of such yet. Also...it was pretty clearly just roundabout way for you to proclaim we need another playmaker/point guard, which obviously is referencing Rubio, as you have proclaimed time and time again this offseason.
This was a random bold prediction. Not very many of us believe we are after another primary playmaker. And hardly any of us view hardens playmaking as an impediment to our championship aspirations. Yes, I want another playmaker. Yes I would love to have Rubio. No he's not the only playmaker I'd love to have.
Baring injury to Harden, Houston will be the fourth seed and make it to the semis or even conference finals.
