lol @ the over analysis of this being "mental"

All I see is that his shots looks flatter than it always have, and he's flicking it from 3 feet behind the 3 point line. i never thought his 3 point shot was consistent. it clearly never has been even when he won 6 man of the year.

now teams know how to guard him, he still chucks too many long 3's. The one thing our offense is that it limits diversity, which is kinda bad for a player who's struggling shooting.

Let's just say if Klay clanks a bunch of 3's, they will run some plays to have him shoot some mid ranges. Meanwhile Gordon pretty much can only run the PnR, Iso, or shoot long 3's which is further destroying his confidence.

But he's always been a good defender though(his team defense is a little wonky) but for the most part he's been good. What? So if he's giving the same effort he was last season on defense that means because his shot is bad he's just heaving it with no intention to go in???? Cmon now. Im not giving advanced stats. When you are a positive on the floor, you are a positive on the floor, its not really an advanced stat, it just says when he's on the floor its beneficial and this is over many games so its not an empty stat.

But..this sounds crazy man? This is like some conspiracy theory stuff. It's like what people were saying about Paul getting his fat contract? Gerald Green was also shooting badly too, was something wrong with his mind?

Why though? If it was really catastrophic than he would be defending poorly and people would be leaving him open on offense, and they can do so at their own demise. His driving has come back a little, I do think he'll pick it up but you are right if you still believe its mental than that is fine, we'll just stop.

No, Ryan was checked out because he wouldnt shoot(at least imo). Dantoni hates it when players are hesitant to shoot. If EG doesnt shoot than that's a problem, then i would believe something about his mentality.

Wow, you really think its an issue huh. Hmmm well I will say that hope what you are saying happens in the last paragraph because that would be amazing.

We tried but it wasn't enough for Minnie. We offered Gordon, Nene and two 1st rounders.

Melo couldn’t shoot, defend, pass, run the offense or play the defensive system.

You have no idea how basketball works, if he did not care it would show up on defense and in him not driving to the basket.

it also does not make sense because he is playing for his next contract, so does not care about his next contract as well?

IMO——Perhaps EG is taking the Melo news to hard.....causing him to play like trash..
As soon as Melo disappears for good the sooner EG breaks out of his slump or gets dealt..

He’ll be fine. He’s been through slumps like this before. He spaces the floor just being out there and he’s a pretty good secondary / tertiary playmaker. There are better players out there no doubt, but EGo knows the system both on offense and defense and shows up in the playoffs. I’m not going to worry about him just yet.

Been wanting to trade him for a while now. Would’ve moved him for Butler with no hesitation.

Not pulling the trigger on that if the wolves would’ve taken it was a mistake.

Hopefully they can still move him for a valuable piece.

Hard to believe that he was a 3point champion

Gordon has out played his contract from the moment it was signed. Him not playing like a $18M/pre year player is okay because he is not. We are used to him out playing his contract. IMO, let him work it out and he will. Where ever he lands next season will be his best ever => contract year. Stop worrying about his feelings because he is worried earning potential and taking care of himself and his family long term. He will be there when it’s time => he is a professional player.

He is a tad streaky; he will get it together and start shooting better.

Don't say Melo's name, you'll remind all his critics here how wrong they were about him being the problem

Melo was cast aside because of Karma
    Nothing else
He basically got two coaches fired . .. . and both of them are here in Houston
They turned around and got him fired. Period!
