More than half the league will want him and have the cap space to give him a max contract.

    Why would he choose Houston?

Not because we will be able to offer him more money.

Several teams going after him in 2010 will have stronger supporting casts than us.

Yao? Only in Houston and China do fans glorify Yao. Much of the rest of the league laughs at him behind his back. He won't lure LeBron here.

No state taxes/cost of living? LeBron makes so much money, this won't matter. (See Beltran, Carlos) Going to a contender will be a much bigger factor than saving a few bucks for a soon-to-be billionaire.

He is from Ohio and the Cavs could very well be a better team than us by the time LeBron becomes a FA, if they aren't already.

If not Cleveland, you have to the think that a team like the Nets, Pistons or Knicks will be higher on his wish list than Houston.

Anything is possible but LeBron in Houston is extremely unlikely. In fact, I can't think of one good reason why he would choose the Rockets.

Real value? Right now I say it should be close to the value of VC in the Net, but if we can get Wade after 2010, then his value is a sky high.

You're right. It's not always behind his back.

Sometimes they do it openly like just last night on ESPN when they were making fun of how people half his size are able to block his shots.

There are plenty of other examples of the media and players mocking him but I'll spare you for fear of hurting your feelings any further.

I never listen those ESPN idots' words. Most of them are the ones who lost their jobs as coaches. In other words, LOSERS!!!

I guess you are probably a very young person, and haven't gone through too many things in your life. For me, Yao is a person who I always look up to. He had major injuries in last three seasons. You know how much courage it would need for a person in that situation to continute to fight for his goal, his dream. When I saw his pictures of training in a pool this summer, I felt very touching. I feel Yao is a better human being than I am. If I was in his situation, I would be destroyed. No matter how his performance will be in the rest of his career, I will always support him.

At first, it was a novelty to have a klutzy 7'6" Asian play in the NBA. Now, everyone who drives on the Rockets either a) wants to dunk over him if they want a challenge or b) drives right around him since he is way too slow to stop anyone if they want an easy (and I mean easy) basket.

Also, when Yao has the ball, it become a game of "row ball." If you're not familiar with the game, it is "which row in the stands can I send his shot to." Highest row wins. The nice thing about this game is that everyone can participate from the shortest of PGs to the slowest of centers since they *all* reject Yao on a regular basis.

That's probably one reason. I think another reason is because of his bad ear. Most of blocks came from behind. He probably could not hear those players.

If you look up to Yao as a hero, I am strongly guessing that you are the youngster. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I just hope candles, bones and prayers aren't part of the whole thing.

i guess nobody heard me, so I'll say it again:

What other free agents are available in 2010 besides Lebron, Wade, and Bosh?

does it really matter who blocks his shot?

so long as he puts up 20/10/2 when he's healthy is really all that matters.

the media has always had it in for yao and i wouldn't doubt race playing an issue.

his value lies in that 20mil salary expires 2010, where wade, lebron, bosh will be free agents.

Unless Amare Stoudemire, LeBron James, or maybe Chris Bosh calls and says, "Save the cap space in 2010 for me," then we need to veer away from that pipe dream--the Great Summer of 2010.

Yao will be two years closer to dying the Great Dane's early death as a basketball player, so what, exactly, would Houston have to offer over New York or wherever? I'm a native Houstonian and I'll back up my hometown when needed but we have to be realistic.

On the other hand, if we put other teams in the position to get the aforementioned players (and others will be available), then that is where we must look. The trick is to also find an expiring contract in return, or to trade a player to a third team, so that we're in a position to re-sign Artest next year if necessary.

After Detroit, though, there aren't a lot of teams out there that fit the criteria, unless you get reeeeall creative in 3-team deals.

    This was the past.

Have you seen him play this year?

I will take more than a miracle for him just to get healthy let alone get back to how he played two years ago or even last year.

Yeah ok thats the past but some people keep bringing up the past about Francis and the way he plays why not McGrady but I have seen him play this year. As for the past 11 Years i seen him play. The guy is injured what do you want an injured guy 2 do?? Especially one who is coming off of surgery give the guy a break. As for him playing you cant blame one guy the other 11 players arent doing so good either.

This is the Rockets. The Houston Rockets. The last 4 seasons since McGrady was traded here they have started out slow so why is everyone in panic mode. They start off slow then heat up. guys need to calm down and stop starting threads bashing our players
