This is how I see it... Whatever happens, I'm a Rockets fan! If a player decides to move on, I'm still gonna be a Rockets fan! I'm definately not going to bash the guy, we've had lots of good players come and go. When a player is a Rocket, I root for 'em, but the NBA is a business and when good players leave, I'll wish em the best and get back to the matter at hand, supporting our current team. So whatever happens, us fans should think to the future and wish our former players the best, if and when they leave, retire or get traded. rH ------------------ Updated: The Psychedelic Groove House of Rockets Basketball Love! join the club! rH, Still, it will be difficult to see Hakeem in another uni. The question is......now what? I still say we pull a trade with Chicago... Hmmmmmm.....maybe a three way sign and trade deal GS signs Marc Jackson for $4.5 and sends him to Houston Houston sends Cato, Williams and Collier to Chicago (Chicago has appropriate cap room) Chicago sends Miller to GS and Eddy Curry to Houston Jackson/Curry Mo T/EG/KT T MO/SA/Bull Cat/DL SF/Mooch Colson on DL I could live with that....... Guys this is not the NBDL. We have a championship to go an win, make some noise. All these pipe dreams are not going to go down well with Francis. He did say it plain, that Dream is needed. Yes Dream may get injured but what if he does not? It is worth the risk. I just have full confidence that CD will keep the Dream here. It is just a matter of time. ------------------
Dearrock, Mortgaging our future for our past is not a wise investment. The same adages for the stock market are apropos here..... 'Buy low, sell high'/'Cut your losses as quickly as possible' At this point anything beyond a 1yr/$4.5-6 mil deal is too much. Without Hakeem we have the possibility of +$10 mil in cap space next year while still retaining the rest of our core. Steady improvement is the key to a championship, not the quick or the sentimental fix. ROCKET!!! ------------------
Rocket!!! is right, if Hakeem is gone, it leaves the door wide open. Next year's fre agent class is loaded with talent, this could be a major stepping stone for the Rockets and building towards winning championships. I'll miss Hakeem as much as th next guy, but thats the BUSINESS of the NBA. ------------------
[this used be a picture of Hakeem in his uniform holding an NBA Championship trophy that I removed because I'm new and didnt, but do now, know better] If Dream decides to leave the Rockets for another team, the day it is announced will be a sad, sad day for Houston. I hope his sentimental strings are tugging at him and he will decide to end this chapter of his life with poetic justice. I find it funny that Dream believes its in the Houston Rockets hands whether he comes back. I thought it was in Dream's hands.... Is he not the guy who signed an agent??? Is he not the guy who wants 10 mil...but hopes Houston will keep the nucleus of players in tact??? Is he not the guy who is looking else where??? Its in Dreams hands not the Houston Rockets.... ------------------
Rocket!!!, mortgage which future? Akeem is here for two year max and with him the future is now. I believe we can win now. Call me dreamer. A championship in one of the next two years should mean alot and we should be willing to pay for it. Plus, there are no extra special centers that will be available to us in the next two years. And regards the future, they are already on the team. That is Francis, Mobley, Griffin, Morris, Langhi, Thomas, Taylor, Moochie, etc. If we remain an attractive place for players to come, to then we will always get our share of FA's as we have demonstrated. ------------------
