DMo is young, ever improving, and he's 7 foot--stay with him. Also if Asik ever leaves we will need a backup center, so...keep DMo. As for the others...?
1. Goodbye to the entire bench except DMo, Lin, Asik, and Daniels. 2. Replace McHale with any established X and O's coach 3. Sign a clone army of lanky wing defenders like Sefolosha, Ariza, or T. Prince, and we're ready for war.
Obviously McHale traded off Greg Smith to accommodate for DMo. So...unless some other young and upcoming backup center comes along...DMo will probably stay.
I don't know about Daniels. Can he do anything else besides shoot threes?? He was covered like glue in game 6...only had 2 shots.
Might as well only have 8 guys on the roster, that's all they'll ever play when it really matters no matter what the game situation demands.
More than a few of them will be back. They are on minimum contracts and even if the Rockets make multiple moves, they will still need to fill several of the 15 roster slots with only minimum contracts. Some may get thrown into a trade to make salaries match or may even have value, but most of them will likely stay.
Asik, Howard, Parsons, Harden, Beverly & Daniels will be back. Jones & Lin will be involved in a trade or 2 if they aren't back. The rest will be used as filler, depending on the FA we sign or trade for.
If McHale really stays, then trade Lin and Asik. We're going to lose with or without them. Let them go somewhere where they have a chance to shine. If we get a competent coach then keep Lin and Asik. Asspi and Garcia are done here. There is zero way they come back, even for the minimum. Maybe as ballboys, if that, maybe they'd be better suited as towel boys. I'm not a big fan of Beverley. He's not an offensive threat points or assists wise.. I think Canaan can be aggressive on D, although not as aggressive, but still.
