Dear members of Clutchfans, I am in need of your help. On Saturday night I will be hosting a dinner for my work associates at Hearsay Gastro Lounge on Travis St. I'm currently stuck on what to do after dinner. I am any and all suggestions. Thanks!
I work right near there. Okra is a cool place to get some drinks and chill it just opened. Other than that, there is warrens (dive bar). And beyond that the only other decent place is flying saucer. Dtown is not that lively...
There are a few decent restaurants, bars and lounges... but that's about it. You're much better off hitting up midtown so you can walk back and forth to places. Remember, a taxi is just $6 inside the loop. I'd taxi it up to midtown. If you want to stay downtown Sambuca is nice, and the Flying Saucer is always a casual hot spot.
Warrens- Lounge Flying Saucer-Beer Heaven Petes Piano Bar Lucky Strikes-Piano Bar House of Blues Okra- New non-profit bar Aero's play on weekends and cheap Frank's Pizza for food
Horrible idea IMHO. The few decent places in Rice Village are usually overshadowed by the parking nightmare, the over-packed venues and the douche bag college crowd.
So about 2 blocks away from toyota center, there is this place called Jet Lounge. I do all the bookings there on the weekends and saturday nights are my underground techno nights. And actually, the second saturdays are SUB_Stantial by Reverse night, my crew takes over the place. We like to go past 2 am, and your's truly will be playing at that time. Stop on in and i'll get you some drinks. That is of course if you are adventurous enough
aka any decent bar close to the city that's not full of middle age people. If those things bother you, have fun in the burbs.
this sounds fun. Im getting old now but I remember a time when houston had a pretty good after hours scene. we went to club some and it didn't start going until 2am and went hard hard until like 5. Good times. Seems like that is all over now and a different time and place. Surely there are some places. right? I hear numbers on friday night was trying for a while but not the raging that club some was. not close. At least not that late and that over the top. not trying to derail but what is the after hours scene like in houston these days? Is jet lounge a past 2am popular or a past 2am more low key? I'm going to meet up with some old friends soon for a saturday night romp. Im going to let the wife and kids know I probably won't see them until tues. Do folks still do the sunday circuit? I remember around 1999-2001 folks would go to la strada on sunday and then berryhill then on to the next place and the next place and the next place. It was a straight party from saturday day until early monday morning. Lots of fun. please tell me the children are partying still like this in houston? Please tell me its not a ghetto fest at this jet lounge and that I don't need to bring my gat.
$6 fare is only for the CBD. Midtown would be 2 blocks too far. http://home.houstonyellowcab.com/fare_info.html
Wow, a few years ago, I was part of that crowd. Now I can't stand college kids with their skinny jeans.
