So you are saying that we don't need to make a move? But then the main solution is to use Asik to get a perimeter defender (make a move?)

Let's say that we could get any player in the league for a solid perimeter defender. Who would we get?

Lebron? Tony Allen? Paul George? Andre Iguodala? Jimmy Butler? Kawhi Leonard? I'm sure there are a lot that I am missing, but those are the ones that come to my mind.

We aren't getting any of those guys. So even if we did decide to move Asik to try to improve our perimeter defense, who would we even target?

+1. The Rockets are a "poor defensive team" if you only look at opponent's PPG. Stop giving up so many extra possessions and fast-break opportunities, the PPG could decrease dramatically.

My thoughts were that when we go small with Parsons at PF the perimeter defender plays the 3 with Harden and Lin/Bev at PG. That would be a spot that could be 10 minutes or 30 minutes a game depending on opponent. The teams with a great perimeter player (Heat, Thunder, Knicks ... etc) he would get more time.

Basically the team would have a lot of flexibility. On any given night they could play small and run or they could play traditional.
