    What happened to the defense?

What happened, we were almost playoff bound?

    What happened to BOB?

It is simple... It is a mediocre to bad organization from the very top down... And **** runs down stream.

So, what you are saying is that you are not a fan of this team/organization?

No, what I am saying is that fans deserve better than what they have gotten from the Texans organization.

If you passively are satisfied with mediocre to poor performance, so be it.

Many of those "resources" never played ONE SNAP in a game.

Whoever is drafting should be un-drafted.

The most bothersome parts of this team is
    1. Tackling - DOES NO ONE WRAP UP ANYMORE?!?!?!?!?? just hit them hard and hope they fall . .. and hope you don't whiff
    2. Can someone be IN POSITION TO MAKE A PLAY - the soft spots in our defense must be obvious to every team. Cause the other teams run blocking leaves GASHES and their receivers seem to always know where to go to get the catch
    3. MOTOR MOTOR MOTOR - Go til the FRICKING WHISTLE!!!
    4. STRIP THE BALL!! or at least try . . .someone besides JJ raise you fricking hands!!

whats hurt this team is quick hitting plays that have forced the Texans to react...And players are holding back on instincts to go make a play. Rather they are trying to visualize the play, and by that time its too late. You would think vets understand this, but its far from the case.

Just go back and think of all the plays that have results in big yards. Nothing really have been deep bombs...its been screens, crossing routes, dump passes, and runs that have gone up the middle. QBs just have NOT held the ball too long against us... This would indicate that players on defense arent being instinctual. This is entirely why I believe that Romeo's defense has hurt the team tremendously.

Also to note. There is zero physicality by the DB's. Giving WR's and TE 10 yd cushions are just asking for trouble...especially against a poor tackling team. There are only a few QBs that can exploit tight coverage in this league, but every QB will destroy a defense if they have wide open windows to throw.

We have arguably two of the most dynamic pass rushers in the game, and yet have not been able to consistently disrupt rhythm. These guys are getting occupied with double teams...other guys need to go and make instinctual plays.

How do you beat the Texans 2015 defense?

Just line up in the shotgun, spread your receivers out and run a power running play (with a pulling guard) right up the middle.

    • Watt will take himself out of the play by rushing the QB
    • Wilfork and Crick will get CORKSCREWED into the turf with little to no resistance
    • Cushing will take on a blocker without ever shedding him to actually go after the ball carrier
    • Same goes for Mercilus(assuming he's not out of position)
    • Pleasant (who is inexplicably playing LB...) can be easily wiped out by the pulling guard
    • Joseph will take a horrible angle and make a token effort to dive at the RB's feet
    • Moore (worst starting safety in the league) will get juked out of the play, make a weak attempt to tackle or, in most cases, just simply step out of the way

Just run this play over and over and over again until you're up by at least 40. Then you can rest your starters in the 2nd half.

To me there's a combination of things. I think teams have realized they can't stop JJ Watt. So the next best thing is to go with quick hitting plays so he doesn't have time to get to the QB. And, in general, this team's speed on defense is not very good. So those quick hitting plays are proving to be REALLY effective. Like the first TD the Dolphins scored. That was a simple, quick slant. It's not horrible that they were able to complete it. It's horrible that they completed it and then somehow easily ran past EVERYONE for like 50 yards. That shouldn't happen.

The runner made a cut, happens to every defense. Cushing is the closest and the easiest to shed. The other guys should be in place to protect against that cut.

I heard or read something interesting the other day that kind of explains this. It really stems from our front 7 being poor against the run. If your DL and LB aren't stopping the run, then you kind of need to bring a safety up into the box for the extra help. So now instead of having 2 safeties deep, you only have 1. And with only 1 deep safety, there's less help over the top so the CBs really can't let anybody get behind them and thus have to give a larger cushion.

If the front 7 could play the run effectively then we could have 2 deep safeties and that would allow the CBs to be more aggressive in coverage.
