Just browsing the box scores for todays pre-season games and I noticed that a certain Phoenix player had snared 16 rebounds to go with his 14 points - I checked the name, and it was Dan Langhi! Since when does Dan Langhi even dream about getting 16 boards And then I realised it was against the Golden State...
I don't know why I go against conventional ideas, but I liked Dan Langhi from the start. He's tall, slim, and can cut through the basket. He's not the Kobe/Tmac type of player of course, but his impact should be helpful for the team. Such as Sac-town's Turkoglu and those type of players. I've always thought that it was a mistake for us not to play him more. I think he'll be a good addition in the NBA on any team, as long as he gets his time to play.
I love Langhi. He never got into the flow with out team, but I hope he is able to at least grab a roster spot with the Suns.
He's always been able to grab rebounds. I don't know why people thought he would be the next Bullard because he hasnt shot many threes.
He doesn't shoot many because his range isn't really all the way out there - which is why I think he didn't make the cut on the Rockets squad. He likes to have the ball in hand and to make his own shot, rather than to stand around and play the catch and shoot role - but I disagree about him always being a rebounder... he was never a huge boarder, but he'd get a few here and there.
Langhi is talented, it just takes some players longer to mature then others. We'll have to wait and see if this was a one time deal or Langhi improving, but 6-11 guys who can dribble and shoot aren't exactly in abundance.
