i would like they play like jazz, not for their elbow and flap, but for their #1 team in assists.

I don't think the Rockets have the right people to run Dallas's offense. ;)

    First...we don't have a true point guard...like Steve Nash. ;)
We have a Cuttino Mobley who is kinda like Michael Finley..just worse and younger.
They have different guys at small forward.
    We have Posey and Rice.
They have Dirk Nowitzki. Just crazy. Unstoppable.
    We have Eddie Griffin...
They have Shawn Bradley while we have Yao Ming. ;) Only good advantage!!
We have Moochie Norris. They have Nick Van Exel.
    Hmm...
They have at least 12 coaches. We only have about one true coach.
And...basically...their entire team can shoot 3's.

We only have about 2 3-point shooters.
They run a lot of pick and rolls...our guys are unable to do that...

They have an extremely rich and crazy owner!

I would love it if we played like the Jazz. Not only do they play hard night in and night out but they know how to win games and especially how to win games they shouldn't win. There is minimal dribbling (the only dribbling is done by Stockton to get the ball upcourt or one or two dribbles around a pick) and the ball usually finds its way into every player's hands each possession. Their offense is always in constant motion with each player setting a series of screens for another and each player reading his screen perfectly, making cuts to the basket for easy layups when appropriate, and the player with the hot hand is always milked.

I wish...but our players are just too dumb.
And we don't have enough shooters.
We don't have enough people who can set picks and do all the dirty stuff.
    We just are too undisciplined.
I don't think we could ever run an offense like the Jazz.

But I would love it if we could.

Best passing team and best shooting team. We are the worst passing team and worst shooting team.

I don't think we would be able to change the whole offense...but we want to go inside outside through Yao Ming. So Spurs offense would best fit our team!!!!

I would like our team to return to the Big Mans Game! Where the ball is passed up the Court( not dribbled) and into the Big Man. He makes the decission on its direction. Out to an open Jump shooter or to be moved onto another shooter or even back into a repositioned Big Man. ( The Game Rudy T used to coach). At present LA is the only team where the Center is trusted and sometimes plays this way!

Yes sir. Which basically means THE SPURS WAY OF PLAY!!!!!!!!

    Okay.

But just having shooters around does not do anything.

They need to be moving and try to get open.

And Yao is just a rookie. He is still young.

And there needs to be slashers who dribble to confuse the defense a bit...

And Yao needs to look to pass sometimes...

I voted for the KINGS because they play with emotion and TEAMWORK! Did anybody notice that when the Rockets had assist they won games!? :D This team could be a team to be wreckened with if they could just stop estimating losing teams and have TEAMWORK they could actually be good at something! How you only average 18 assist in a whole game 48 MINUTES!;)

Who plays excellent D leading to good transition O?

Who has the ball handler in the middle of the floor and teammates filling the wings on a break?

Who always pushes tempo and scores on a delayed transition break?

Who starts the half court set with more than 12 seconds on the shot clock?

Who has at least 5 different players touch the ball in a half court set before a shot is attempted?

Who does not have three players weakside planted outside the arc when a PnR is run?

    Can someone tell me...who?

I don't care if the Rockets mimic Baylor if the above get accomplished. :)

Closest team would probly be the Spurs. Great D, inside-outside offense and team play.

Yetti, we aren't talking about whether or not we want a championship. That's obvious we want that.

We're talking about style of play; run-and-gun, 5-man motion, triangle, quasi-triangle, inside-out, or worst ISO.

I also dare you to watch the 1st game of the 1994 Finals. I dare you. It's scary.

Then, and only then will you understand what "ugly ball," really is.

No one, and I repeat, no one played better "ulgy ball" than the 1994 Rockets (the word "better" isnt'a complement, either).

That's why SportsIllistrated would not write up a national magazine for our 94 Title. No one cared, except us.
