Man **** tracy, after that toronto game he can eat a dick.

Yao on the other hand will always remain a rocket legend and I will always respect him. He deserves a ring wayyyy more than tracy.

You guys are pretty dumb for actually taking this thread seriously.

tinman thought: Damn, My daddy might be getting a ring. Let me make a thread where I can use a beloved innocent figure in all of this to make McGrady look like a bad guy.

Oops, I came to this thread to post this, because it's somewhat relevant to the tmac only fans, but this woman sounds more like an NBA Gold Digging Groupie.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>@<a href="https://twitter.com/highway_30">highway_30</a> I need TMac to hurry up &amp; get his ring bc if he's playing next year I don't want to see Spurs have to come thru YOU &amp; Houston...</p>&mdash; Stacy McGrady (@elisabethepps) <a href="https://twitter.com/elisabethepps/status/344654483218907136">June 12, 2013</a></blockquote>
    <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

She basically expects Royce White to be playing with the Rockets next year.

McGrady is not a bad guy.

He's just an insurance policy that filled the void when Stephen Jackson was dismissed.

Loved Yao, but don't think he deserves to have his number retired.

Maybe I will get a lot of bashing but I don't think Yao deserves to have his Jersey retired.. Sure he was pretty good for being tall and non athletic but to me he was hardly the type that carried the team to greatness.

I guess when it comes down to it I believe jersey's should be retired based upon skillset and accomplishments. He has been an amabasdor to the NBA and has paved the way for Asian players to have hope. I admire that and if that is what it takes to retire Jersey's well that is up to them.

Yao definitely deserves to have his jersey retired. He bridged the gap between the NBA and China, something the league could only dream about doing. Yeah, there were basketball fans in China before, but now there are more NBA fans in China than there are people living in the United States.

    Contribution to the game.

TMAC has Yao to thank for even opening the doors of China to him...to be able to play their shouldve been special for a broken down NBA player...if not he wouldve been rotting on a couch in Houston, and the Spurs wouldve never called him...and wouldve just kept Stephen Jackson...

On wonderful news, Im really happy for the big fella...Sucks that injuries cost him his chance to play for something special in Houston...secretly(i wish that he could come back and give our Rockets maybe like 6-7 mins a game)

I don't see why you'd be bashed over that. I feel the same way. You don't retire someone's jersey just because they were a #1 pick, made a few All-Star teams, and got your franchise a bunch of publicity because of his ethnic origins.

Yao won one playoff series in 7 seasons(I refuse to count his final season where he suited up for only 5 games). One! I'm sorry, but if you're going to put his jersey up in the rafters signifying that no other Rocket will ever again be able to wear #11, he needs a better resume than that. Frankly if anyone deserves to have #11 retired by this franchise, it's Vernon Maxwell. He single-handedly saved his team's hide in Game 3 of the Phoenix series in 1994 and he hit the decisive 3-pointer in Game 7 against the Knicks.

As for T-Mac, I have no personal animosity toward the dude, but his presence on the Spurs is one reason I'm rooting for Miami in this series. Sorry, but signing on as a scrub with a top seeded team in order to pick up a ring is cheap and pathetic. At least when Mitch Richmond gravy-trained off the Lakers in 2002 for his ring, he'd been traded there and played with them the entire season.

Goodness Tinman, I've defended you in the past and generally find you to be a fun poster, but you've jumped the shark with this. You and Carl Herrera are chasing down the Fonz, waiving at the normal fans who are still on the docks.

If the Spurs win, Tmac should mail his ring to Yao.
