I consider my complete Bret Easton Ellis collection to be obscure. I absolutely love his writing, and the movies that have been made after his texts have been decent. "American Psycho" and "The Rules of Attraction" are classics, IMO. He's the author that should have received props for creating the whole sociopath/psychopath genre..definitely created the whole "Gone Girl-esque" following.
