I remember hearing about the Smurf gang. All I ever did was hear about them, though, rumor-style.

    Ghostbusters was a cool cartoon.

Here's another real old-school 'toon that kicked ass:
    Mighty Mouse
Here I come to save the day!!!!!

Damn straight. I loved the Muppet show. I've got the Monty Pyton's Flying Circus boxed DVD set, and I'd sure as hell by one for the Muppet Show. I've got the theme song (for the beginning of the show and the end) on MP3. Bombin' is the only way to describe it.

    Quick-Draw McGraw
    Oggie Doggie (sp?)
    Spiderman

Old school in print, but newly animated:
    Tintin
    Babar the Elephant
    Rupert the Bear
    Winnie the Pooh
    Curious George
… but this is a whole other category.

I just thought of another one that has not been mentioned yet:

    Gumby and Pokey!

The earliest memory I have is when I was still 2 years old (almost three), and I was in the hospital with pneumonia. I had to be in an oxygen tent, and my Mom and Dad gave me a small Gumby and Pokey toys to play with in the tent. I still have those toys.

    I'll bet their worth a fortune now$$$$$!

All you ever wanted to know about old school cartoons.

    http://www.yesterdayland.com/popopedia/shows/decades/saturday_1980s.php

Robotix was also a cool show on Super Sunday with inhumanoids.

I can't believe no one else has mentioned Super Sunday. No wonder inhumanoids lasted for such a short time.

    http://www.yesterdayland.com/popopedia/shows/saturday/sa1466.php

Hailing from beneath the earth’s crust, the Inhumanoids were three elemental creatures with very bad attitudes. The de facto leader was Metlar, a volcanic type who could throw fireballs and had the power to animate statues. Tendril, a plantlike monster, had amazing regenerative capabilities and powerful tendril arms. Rounding out the trio was D. Compose, a frightening creature with an exposed ribcage who could turn any organic being into a zombie with a single touch.

Gummy bears "bouncing here and there and everywhere"
Paw Paw Bears- the one with the big totem pole that came to life splitting into a turtle, bear and eagle.
    MASK
    Captain Power
    Captain N
    Gultar and the Golden Lance

    Die Soul Train Die!!!!!!

BlastOff - I can get you a Prime if you need one, plenty on the shelves around here. (At least for now).

Anyhow, new school toons do indeed rock. Except for the Bravo and Ed crap that was mentioned earlier. Dexter is awesome however.

Most of the old stuff is rather boring. And I can't freakin' stand Scooby Doo any more, but that might be because Cartoon Network shows it 19 hours a day.

But of the older stuff I do like:

    Transformers
    Thundercats
    He-Man
    GI Joe
    Flintstones
    Jetsons
Mighty Mouse (Second series was good too)
    Superfriends
..and others I can't think of right now.

And even though it wasn't animated my childhood wasn't complete without...

    Fraggle Rock rocked the house!

This isnt old at all, its probably "new school" (although when it started I was probably in my early teens), and not really like anything listed thus far, but The Simpsons is a very good cartoon series...

I have to disagree with you here. I think SGCTC is a truly original show, instead of the usual superhero crap that is all the same. I love all of the stuff on Adult Swim.

    BlastOff - email me.

I've been seeing them at the Walmart and Target here, so they have good prices on them. I'll try and check in the next couple of days and see what they got.
