We fired the best coach in the NBA, we traded away our captain (shane) for a proven scrub who is chilling in tanzania right now, and we are talking about hiring sam cassell as a coach.

If you are DM, what do you want our record to be in May 2012?

Trade for the second pick, draft D.Williams and build around himself, lowry, patt etc. Draft a centre or fill the gap in f.a! Darly please, please, please TRADE FOR THE NUMBER TWO PICK!

What can we give kahn for the 2nd pick without losing our top shooter?

Kahn has said he is looking to proven vets to lead the young guys. Scola is the perfect man for that BUT... why would the Wolves want him when they have Love? All we really have is Martin. Maybe they might want Hayes to mentor Love, but this trade really won't work without Martin involved.

We can survive without him though. Lee is a reputable starter and brings defense to the starting lineup. The question here is:

Yes Martin is great and he is our best offensive player, but can we win a championship with him? It's hard to let go of players like Martin, but it's really a matter of being a 6th-8th seed, or a champion.

I really don't understand how people come up with the idea that such an efficient scorer like kevin martin can not make a good championship piece? you are not the first and not the last that has said this...

You're asking the wrong question. Because yes, we can win a championship with him. The question is, can we win a championship without him?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Martin has only been to the playoffs once in his career? Maybe it has something to do with his bad D, reluctance to shoot in crunch time, reliance of umpires, injury susceptibility (this year was an abnormality) and the fact that he is not getting younger.

Martin's value is at his highest right now, only a shortsighted fool would argue for keep Martin; he will be no where near the player he is now when the Rockets become contenders again.

0-82. Top 3 pick next year would be perfect.

The whole rationale behind tanking is utopian in itself.

The Wolves could get Granger or any other veteran that's not a proven failure like Martin.

Thanks for telling us why the Wolves don't want him.

Not quite my friend. Tanking gets you a high pick in the draft, which in turn gets you better players on your team. There is an all-star in almost every draft and he usually is picked within the first 3 picks. Utopian? No. Statistically Proven? Yes.

Now what is utopian, is thinking that this current squad is going to win a ring. Look at some of the top teams today, such as orlando, chicago, OKC, boston.. they all sucked really bad in recent memory, but did well on their draft picks and are now contenders for years to come, because talent attracts talent.

If I am DM, I am willing to sacrifice next season to have the chance of getting a franchise changing player. Furthermore, I believe that this is exactly what DM is doing.

**** k-mart, same as every player on this roster. No body is attracted to our role players. In order to get a franchise cornerstone player we need to take risks. RISK is a word that seems to be avoided. Trade up for Derrick Williams, he has everything under his belt to play and succeed. His mentality already is ROY winner. Comon, got to love the attitude.

    Rockets roster= EXPENDABLE!

Seeing how we have ZERO shot at a championship in May 2012, and if we do make the playoffs we lose our pick to NJ, I'm not sure what DM would want but I know what I want.

If the Rockets really wanted to make the 2012 playoffs, Rick would still be the head coach.
