Every NBA championship team has one or more of those options.

For example let's look at the recent ones.

The Heat had the current MVP and 3 all stars or former all stars.

The Mavericks before that had former allstars and Dirk was a former MVP.

    For the Rockets.

In 1994. We had an All star, the MVP, the defensive player of the year.
And that was just one guy!

I would say, the main ingredient is ONE top 5 player with a maniacal competitive drive, which you surround with at least 2 more great players of all star caliber who all know their roles well. There are other ways to the top but this is the most obvious to me. We need, eventually, to pick a dominant player to surround our current young talent around and acquire a coach who will let it all gel together, whether that be McHale or not. We do have some potentially good pieces though.

well it's not the dpoy, only 3 of them have won nba titles in that year, and only one of them won the finals mvp (and he probably deserves to be in team mvp more than he does team dpoy).

mvp and finals mvp+ championship has been pretty common, although not so much the last 10 years or so.

Lebron, Duncan a decade ago, Hakeem and Michael in the 90's, Magic and Larry in the 80's, Kareem, Wilt and Bill Russell before that.

But teams with 3 all stars have won a ridiculous number of titles, probably in the order of 25.

Lamb chops will develop in 3, become super asset, get traded for a real star which in 5 will become a crispy championship. I'm experiencing insomnia right now so ignore my ramblings. But we won't win in 3. I'd say 5 at the earliest, gotta wait for the superteam windows to close.

Get a couple of superstars that would be a nice start,we should start targeting Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love.

Harden is a future all-star, and is already at that caliber. And, his performance has been trending upwards every year; he's prolly far from peaking.

Even if 2 of the rookies break out, that translating into wins for playoff contention will take...at least two years prolly.
