IF the colts said that Peyton Manning was on the market, who would you be willing to give up. I say if they wanted Andre Johnson, Arian Foster, and Mario Williams, I would do the trade in a heartbeat. Sounds crazy, but Peyton Manning is the only QB that can win with anyone. What do you think? Yea I know this is pointless, but I thought it was interesting.
You're crazy, man. 2nd-year back leading the league in rushing, All-Pro WR and the face of the franchise, and former #1 overall selection and the only legitimate force off the edge on a terrible defense... Manning's the best signal caller in the game, hands down, but you don't flip the 3 most valuable pieces on the team for a 34-year-old QB. You just don't.
Good quarterbacks tend to also be smart, and I don't think a smart QB would come into a situation where you traded away three of your key players. Football more than any other sport depends on good performances from multiple people at the same time.
Manning doesn't like to be hit, and I've seen him turn to poo-poo when teams can tag him. So putting him behind our line isn't really a good idea.
All I am saying is, no matter who you surround Peyton Manning with, he seems to keep racking up the W's. You think Garcon or Collie would be half as good with anyone else at the Q? Look at Stokley, when he was with the Colts, he was a legit slot threat, now he has just disappeared. Peyton Manning will make Jacoby Jones look like Andre Johnson.
It might be stupid, but it is interesting. Btw when Peyton does do his contract negotiation, do you think the colts can say no to what ever he demands? I mean, the colts are nothing without Peyton.
Honestly I would do it too....as long as they give us at least a 2nd rock pick to go with it ...We can find a decent rb....Manning would turn Jacobe Jones into a borderline Pro-bowler....Mario wouldnt fit Indy's scheme though...
Peyton has only run one offense for his entire NFL career. Trade will also have to include the Colts OC.
The post sums it up.. He's just that good and with him on the helm you can have tier 2 talent surround him and he would at least equal Texans wins in a season.
