Probably means he doesn't follow the NBA and doesn't know who the Lakers are, so he doesn't give a **** about the "bright lights".

well he's been in the league 2 full years going on a third. pretty sure he follows the nba and knows who the lakers are..I get it its a "good natured " jab but still kind of a strange comment...he's basically saying asik is aloof or something but doesn't know if he's on foot or horseback....

maybe its a Turkish ottoman thing :)

I didn't mean literally not know there's a team called the Lakers. I meant he doesn't know that it's supposed to be a big deal to play in Staples. As for the analogy Sampson used, yeah that was definitely a weird one.

Whatever it is, it will take years and years for him to realize it. He's a hard worker and has good coaching, so I'm sure he'll get there.

Omer Asik all the way - he is improving every game.

    What do I see.

Career high: 19 rebounds earlier in the season.
Career high: 19 points against Miami
    Career high: 4 steals
Career high: Free throws and Attempts old max one time only (6/10)
    New record: 11/14
    Career high: 6 field goals

Right now he has to keep working on his game - and its a learning process and it will take 30+ games for him to get used to playing as many minutes as he has been playing - and i'm sure they will increase those minutes or decrease them based on how his body responds.

Won't really start seeing how good he can be until january ~ Right now its just kinda like raw tracking - capturing the noticeable improvements and realizing that ~ he is now a starter, now needs to contribute offensively, needs to establish presence on the floor, needs to be THE big man.

He has 2 amazing guards that can feed him OOPS - ALL DAY, but we haven't seen one. I'm sure Asik wants to get involved in that type of stuff in the future.

    Good times a coming!

I'm surprised that Omer is averaging 10 points a game given the fact he has a game with 0 points and another with just 4 points.

Lin tried feeding him Alley Oops in one of the first games they played.

It turned out badly. Very, very badly.

Not that I expect Lin won't try doing it again at some point... but I think he'll give Asik some time before he does.

Not the man for alley oops -But- obviously the game plan does not include p&r feeds to ömer. there were at least 6 or 7 situations that he was wide open and open lane but they went for the 3 pter instead. easy dunks wasted. p&r game can get much better.
