Barry Warner almost had it right, but not quite. There is a 50 50 chance that after free agency Bynum will be a Rocket from part of a 4 team blockbuster. I'm missing some of the parts, but here's what I got from my sources. Rockets, Lakers, Orlando, and a team from up north (possibly Minnesota or Milwaukee???). Lakers get Lowry, Scola, and Dwight Howard Orlando gets Gasol Houston gets Bynum 4th team gets I don't know??? There are also numerous picks involved in the scenario and some other filler players, but these are the big names. Which teams send and which teams receive the picks I don't know yet. I'm told this has to wait until after free agency starts. I'm not sure why, but I'm also told there is a 50 50 chance this will go down. I'm not a fan of Bynum's attitude, but he's much better then what we have now. *UPDATE* to answer some your questions: 1. No Kevin Martin is not currently involved in the scenario. 2. Obviously I don't know all the pieces to the puzzle, but the major pieces are Gasol, Bynum, D. Howard, Scola, and Lowry. 3. Yes we end up with Bynum. 4. I would bet there is good young talent involved in the trade, but that would be speculation on my part and not actual information from my sources.
I don't see Orlando settling for just Gasol and no Bynum after saying they would only consider a deal with the Lakers that netted both. Is this deal plausible? Maybe, but if anything, I see us getting Gasol while Orlando gets Bynum. Moe
2 questions, are your "sources" better then doc rockets? and How is bynum's health status and how did he do last year health wise?
There is NO WAY Orlando only nets Gasol for Howard. That is just ridiculous. Maybe Orlando gets Gasol, Lowry, Scola... that would make a bit more sense, but still don't see it.
I say that I think it will suck if the Lakers end up with Dwight Howard...unless he walks in a year, in which case I'll have a nice laugh. As much as we need a legitimate center, I'm not a Bynum fan.
Lakers better be trading more in this scenario. Lowry Scola and Howard for Bynum and Gasol is just ridiculous. They get the best player in the deal and a massive upgrade at point guard. I'm not sure why Orlando would want Gasol. Are you sure the 4th team isn't Minnesota? They are really pushing for Gasol.
i was thinking more along the lines of... houston's package of players and picks to orlando bynum to houston howard to lakers
I am good with this but we need to use Martin for another trade for Josh Smith, then we are legit if Gogi comes back!!! Double splash!
Good enough. Not a fan of Bynum, but he is young and top 5 center. As long as we keep all the young bucks, I'm happy with that.
If this would even be feasible, I would guess Minnesota is involved as well to get Gasol. Maybe something like: LA gets: Howard Minnesota gets: Gasol Houston gets: Bynum Orlando gets: Lowery, Scola and Derreck Williams
Yeah aside from Orlando getting Gasol, it's creative thinking on your part. Obviously Houston would do a Lowry Scola deal for Bynum, even if it meant LA getting Howard.
