Was being so close And having so much to say And watching you walk away And never knowing What could have been And not seeing that loving you Is what I was tryin' to do
I didnt vote for "Yao is gone" because Yao is not gone, he is hurt, and will return next season, Landry is really gone, and not going come back next season. also people voting for landry because its more fresh on the memory.
This seems pointlessly negative. I'd rather focus on the good stuff, like tonight's improbable win over a good team despite all the injuries, or how much fun this team is, with our speedy duo in the backcourt, or how good they'll be when Yao, Lowry and Ariza are back and Morey strengthens the team this summer.
Yeah just reading those options are quite depressing. I picked Yao, because ultimately we miss him the most this season, things would be so much different with the big man there...
Why Yao isn't running away with this poll is beyond me. You guys do remember he played us into the second round last year and very possibly could have beaten the Lakers had he his damned foot not given out. He's most figuratively and literally the center of this team. Martin gets more open shots. Ariza falls lower into role player mode and doesn't have to shoot 15 bricks a night. Our FG% immediately rises. Defensive FG% immediately decreases. Even though he's not the most intimidating shot blocker, wouldn't you think twice before driving into one of the few players who can touch the rim without jumping (if he can't, its close)? Landry is awesome and we'll miss him, but he is very replaceable. This upcoming draft is PF athlete type heavy at the top of the draft, where we're likely to be. Unless of course our dream trade of obtaining Bosh happens on draft night.
The fact that you making this thread isn't an option?? lol J/K But what really hurts the most is for the simple fact that the Rockets have to keep changing their roster year after year instead of having a steady roster. It was painful to know that the McGrady and Yao dual did not work. When it sort of worked we didn't have the guys around them. Now we have guys around them but we don't have McGrady and Yao.. It was painful to see guys go in and out the lineup or out for the season. One guys is out for the season while the other is playing and vise versa... Its just painful 2 watch period.
