What has Ariza brought to the team?

Replacing Artest w/ Ariza has been detrimental to the Rockets, IMO. I know it doesn't help that Yao is out and that we lost TMac, but dammit, I think we would've done better w/ Artest.

I don't see a winning attitude from Ariza, and that's what frustrates me. Artest ALWAYS plays to win. So does Yao Ming. Not Ariza. I really don't know what he plays for. He has the athletic ability to dunk, and block shots, but he just doesn't.

Imagine how Ron Artest would've been with Ariza's athletic abilities. He would've been a great NBA leader in scoring and in D.

I'm not about to go into an argument with you, that's not what I'm about. But I hope you'd agree with me on this. I mean, c'mon... Ariza looked like he was playing games as if the season was already over.

Where were you at the end of the season when Ariza was balling every game? Ariza on some nights was forced to be the #1 scorer, something he isn't and wasn't. When he was put in the right role he was far more effective and often scored more than when he just kept jacking up shots (reminds me of someone)

I guess we just saw different things. I was extremely happy with Ariza this past season. I'm not arguing who is the better player in a vacuum -- just who is the best player for this Rockets team and going forward. Without Yao, it was just a no-brainer in my book. Ariza doesn't have the dominant personality that Ron does, but he still caused a lot of havoc on the court. I saw Ariza dunking and blocking shots plenty -- hell, the man even got a triple double this year! Obviously stats aren't the end all, but I was extremely pleased with Ariza. I think a lot of people expected more out of him.. but to me, that's on them. Ariza was never going to be McGrady.. but he's still a damn good role player. I think the experience as one of the lead dogs will only help him on future Rocket teams that need the extra scoring punch as the game goes on.

They are two different players who play different styles. Artest tries to overpower you while Ariza uses his length/athleticism. For what the Rockets were, at the time and moving forward, Ariza just seemed like the best fit to me. He still does. And who knows if Ron's dominant personality would've allowed Brooks to have the breakout year that he did -- I would imagine Artest would've felt like he needed to score the most points for us to win. I don't think you would disagree with the notion that our offense runs a lot more smoothly with Ariza than it does Artest -- I don't think Ron even bothers to learn plays sometimes.

Ron was in a different situation. Playing with Kobe and Gasol etc is far easier than with us. Nevertheless, one does have to give credit to the Rockets and Ron for making it to the 2nd round and giving a good fight against the Lakers.

Once Yao was out,it was obvious that Ron had no role in Houston.

Ron deserves his ring. Kobe doesn't deserve his Finals MVP.

it would be a totally different story if Kendrick played, he is the key, Fakers got freakin 23 off. rebounds!! and kobe was 6/24!! they shot badly but still won, its the off. rebounds and Kendrick would have made a big difference on this game. Celtics kinda lost their starting center for almost 2 games

It teaches us that Ron Artest made the right choice in order to win a championship.
It teaches Morey that he has to build a super team if we are going to win another championship and attract specialists like Ron Artest. :p

That we are far from winning a ring with soft as tissue players like AB and KMart.

That knee jerk threads like these from an LA Grounds member is probably the reason we didn't get an S&T with Ariza and Artest from Mitch.

Artest is a like cheap hondurian ho, everyone roots against her, both her family members (team fans), and other haters. But at the end of the night goes to the highest bidder for a low fee. But she's only a one night rental

Most rocket fans are a bunch of haters. Ron played hard for us and instead of being happy most fans are bitter. If carl won a championship next year what will people say.
