Ron isn't a moron. He brings you toughness, defense and a darkhorse talent.

I'd still take him over Ariza in the playoffs and during the season.

We tend to forget what Ron did here and dismiss him too easily.

He's not Kobe, and even when he takes terrible shots, he's right back playing hard on defense trying to help his team.

A young Vernon Maxwell on this Rockets team would be so cool. I've had enough with Battier's weak ass hand in the face defense. Mad Max would make Kobe his little b**** and there's no doubt in my mind he could be an elite guard in today's league. It's no coincidence that we finally got past the first round last year while Ron was on the team. I miss the toughness he brought to the team. :(

Artest didnt took this team to 2nd round, Yao, Brooks and Scola did it.
Artest helped a bit, but he wasnt the one who took the rockets to 2nd round.
    I dont miss Artest here.

    Nice for Ron.

I would have liked to see him remain a Rocket, but it didn't work out. I have no bad feelings toward the guy.

    I'm happy with Ariza too.

Oh yeah...Those guys, Kobe and Gasol are pretty talented(Yes,I know"Billy likes to drink soda").

BOOM, you got him there, huh!!!!!

On another note, pro-Artest people will continue to say "I don't get the hate, it's not a coincidence that we got to the 2nd round with Ron", while anti-Artest people will continue to say "I don't get the love, Ron surely didn't carry this team to the second round."

    The answer probably lies insomewherebetween

Congratulations Ron, I am glad that you got your ring. Your time with the rockets was fun and I'm happy that you moved on to achieve your goals and be remembered for something other than that night at the palace.

The Lakers are a deep team. If they keep that team together, they could be a dynasty for years....

Ron Artest's stats against the Celtics

    9.0 ppg
    .352 FG%
    .360 3pt%
    .467 FT%
    4.5 rpg
    1.3 apg
    1.2 tpg

    HE TOTALLY OWNED THOSE CELTICS....

    ;)

Maybe, just maybe, Ron rode Gasol and Kobe's coatails...he and Adam Morrison, and Sasha V, all have something in common....rings won by others.

    ;)

It really depends on Bynum's health. If Bynum would have been out this series, the Lakers would have lost again. Both Pau and Bynum create a lot of problems with their length. It makes that team complete having two seven footers in the mix.

    Stop hating.

I thought the point of basketball was that it is a team effort. Don't you constantly preach this? Ron Artest won being part of the team. Yeah he had a few knucklehead plays here and there, but he contributed in two of the biggest games of his career (game 6 and 7) so he hardly rode anyone's tails to the championship. The Lakers needed Artest just like they needed Vujacic to hit those clutch free throws and just like they needed Fisher to hit that three to tie the game, etc etc. You know where I'm going with this.
