Signing him would take us 5 steps back. That's salary and trade kicker plus consent where he can go. Theres better players out there you just have to look.
Here's an idea, and it might very well be what DM does: use the $19 million or so we were going to give Bosh to get the best players we can on 1-year contracts. Forget Parsons, rather than over-pay him $4-5 million a year. Try for a big-shot FA next year, or use this cap space to trade for pretty good players as they become available. We are in good position, except that we might be wasting a year.
Look at acquiring Eric Bledsoe or Goran Dragic. Suns acquired Isiah Thomas, so they will move one of the two (reportedly Dragic it seems).
I just asked around in a Suns forum and apparently most Suns fans would rather s&t Bledsoe before getting rid of Dragic. Most are worried about his health and giving him a max contract, considering he's missed half of 2 seasons out of his 4 year career so far, it's definitely a real concern. So possible that Bledsoe gets s&t to the teams that signs his offer sheet. It can't be use though since Parsons will most likely be matched.
Daryl should... - Let Parsons walk. It may hurt, but his contract ties Morey's hands for three years - Sign Paul Pierce for one year - Somehow try to trade for Kevin Garnett (he will agree to join McHale, plus: how much can Brooklyn ask for a 38-year old with one year left?) - Sign veterans like Marion, Okafor and Nelson for one year or partially-/non-guaranteed deals - Re-sign Garcia and Daniels - Bring over Capela, Papanikolaou and Gentile and see how they do Best of luck next july (Aldridge, Leonard, Rondo, ...).
Yes. We would match Parsons. IMO, unless you can get Melo (unlikely) the other free agents aren't worth using your cap space on. But that doesn't mean you don't use your cap space for something. Like the 76ers, Lakers, and ourselves just a few years ago, I suggest we use our cap space as a dumping ground for teams that need immediate cap relief to sign someone. After that, cap space doesn't matter. 2015 free agency seems to have mostly played out.....Love will be traded, Rubio is restricted, Aldridge has already said he will sign with Portland, Rondo is a question mark. That's it, and I don't think it's worth maintaining cap flexibility into next summer. Use cap to gather more assets....try to trade for Love or Rondo in a few months. That's it.
Next year won't be a great year for FAs. It'll be Rondo and Millsap. I think Love will be traded between now and the trade deadline, and LMA will definitely re-sign with Portland. 2016/Durant is our best hope of adding a legit star.
Another option....just trade for Mirotic. Use your cap space to sign Mirotic, Llull, Johnson, and Papanikoloau to 4 year deals. Go to war.
We are going to waste another year of Dwight and James. We where suppose to get our 3rd star and it didn't happen. These kind of things put teams back a year.

Oh wow, very nice. This guy is only 23. I know he wants to come over and is paying his 3million buyout. Are the Bulls shopping him? They don't have the cap space now? What would it take to get him? Our NO pick?
