    usually don't pay attention to my amazon.com recommendations

    just sort of browse various things in the dvd and books section

    so never really look at them that much, usually have a fair idea of what I'm looking for without them.

    It seems that way only cause just about every book they recommended to me - I already owned - so when I checked them off the list, this was all they was left.

    Because it is quite possibly the best sci-fi novel out there, and is certainly the best stephenson.
