If he is getting 50mpg like the other Prius owner in this thread gets and drives an average amount of miles, I'm sure he is still saving money by having that car.
^ your buddy seems to be the exception rather than the rule. just google about it and you will see most experiences have the battery lasting longer than the typical life f the car. that said, i'm also surprised his warranty didn't cover it. On a 4 year old car, it should.
Range Rover Premium 11.8 MPG! Cost me over $100 to fill up my tank! But I don't drive much fortunately so my absolute cost is limited!
Its not real common, but as these vehicles get older, I've seen more of it. Those battery packs are ungodly expense. Alot of the engines on them are not serviceable either. IOW, if an internal part of the engine goes bad, you replace the whole engine, which will run you $10K plus. I wouldn't mind owning a hybrid, but I sure as hell would never own one w/o a warranty (factory or extended).
07 Avalanche here 16.0 MPG it's telling me on the MPG gauge. Advertised 16/20. 31 gallon tank though. I ain't seen that tank full in quite some time thanks to that 75.00 cap I'm ruled to follow.
You're a METRO driver? 2003... it's the one without the black panel on the rear bumper... I drive it from Katy to Downtown almost every day, and have to fill up possibly once per week, unless I use it during the weekend. I have a v4, the LE version of it.
20.83706356311.... mpg I know this because I took note of my odometer when I got gas last time, then took note of my odometer + gas pumped in when I got gas this time. I don't have a mpg display or w/e Maybe my mpg would go up noticably if I didn't drive my car like a madman, but meh.
2001 Corolla 29 city/33 highway. More like 23-25 on average cuz I havent tuned it up in ages. But I freakin HATE that car Even with rising fuel costs I wish I was something else. Been using the bus cuz the registration sticker's expired and I'm in between insurances. Trying to balance the tradeoffs of bus and car. A monthly bus pass can save me around $70-90 a month on fuel. The natural tradeoff is takes me 4 times longer to go places. So is 40 extra hours travel time a month worth the savings? Decisions...
2006 Honda CR-V 22 mpg Damn, I would have thought it would be much better since it's basically an Accord engine.
97 tacoma. ~22mpg. I only drive it about a 1/4 mile every day to the bus stop and back. Wife drives a 06 vibe. ~30mpg city, 35 highway.
2000 V6 Accord 22-24 mpg 90% city driving I'm pretty heavy on the pedals but I'm trying to curve that a bit to conserve.
