I don't think he is anything like Jason Terry. Jason Terry is a shoot it in your face type of player that will take you off the dribble as well. AB is not going to take many off the dribble into a jump shot. He is either going to go past you, or wait for the open three that he will knock down.
ai at his peak was unmatched with his speed, finishing at the rim as well as the ability to draw fouls. that's what made him mvp. ab has the amazing overall speed, but ai's first step was much quicker. and ai's corssovers were sick and would shake anyone.
A poor man's AI. Tony Parker light Jason Terry second Better Jose Brea An inconsistent pg Ha, what else. Who is AB? Mona Lisa?
I'm impressed with the progress of his in-between game, although it's going to take him some time. His 3 point shooting is also getting more consistent.
AB should just be AB, that's what makes his special. I know that sounded gay... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/91HKLBVqccA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/91HKLBVqccA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
This has been a great series for Aaron to have the opportunity to seize the next step in his game. Game 6 seemed like the light clicked on. A great game 4 but lackluster game 5 has pushed his game. I hope he doesn't look back - especially in game 7.
AB has been trying to fit a role that is new for him. Point guard role player who has a big responsibility to feed ball to dominant big man. Much easier for him has been the assignment to use your speed to create general havoc where ever you can so we can find some sort of advantage on the offensive end. Its the difference between being featured and playing a role. We are fortunate Landry, Scola, and AB -- all three have done really well with a more featured role.
it's hard to predict the future for AB. I don't think he's tony parker....it's an easy comparison...but brooks is actually much FASTER.
We have a cool customer who performs in the biggest stages of them all and performs well. Hopefully his body doesn't break down like his teammates
Game 7 could decide it. His inconsistency is still maddening at times, but you can tell he's learning. I'm all in favor of an open tryout for the starter's job btw him and Lowry next fall. Let's hope one of those guys wrests it away from the other one in a decisive manner, because that will mean that somebody has improved along their PG growth curve. I will say that Aaron is making a believer out of me this series. I've dogged him all season long for his lack of court vision, but he's finally shown the ability to evolve his combat each game to the Lakers' various styles of defending him. I love JVG's analysis that all his passes through the air got picked off in Game 4 so he resorted to bounce-passing in Game 5. At the start of the playoffs, Brooks was good to show up about once in three games (Against Portland, Game 1 and the second half of Game 6. Against LA, Game 1). In the games since Yao has gone out though, Brooks has upped that number to showing up twice in the last three games. If he prove that he will show up as the Brooks he has in these playoffs twice in three games throughout the course of next year's regular season, then we have our longterm starter, our Tony Parker clone, and the guy as ESPN said that every team will be looking to find their own version of this offseason. You could say that Kobe and Phil have the most to prove in Game 7, that the Rockets are playing with house money. But if you think about the fates of their entire NBA careers, no one might stand more to gain than Aaron Jitterbug Brooks. Let's hope he rises to the occasion.
Bobby Jackson for sure...6th man/occasional starter role unless his passing game improves dramatically.
That's funny, could have sworn AB is the starting PG for the Rockets these days. Was Bobby Jackson ever given the starting PG role in Sacramento over Mike Bibby?
He will be next season. Only reason why AB is starting is simply because he has been on this team longer. Plain and simple. Aaron is the better shooter and scorer than Lowry, but Lowry is better than him at every other aspect of the game of basketball.
Well he can surely be a starter in this league evidenced by his play on a damn good team on the verge of going to the Conference Finals. Defensive issues haven't been a problem so far but he's had favorable matchups up to this point.
