They need a legit starting SF way more than a reserve big. #2 after that is another creator/playmaker to take some pressure off CP3. That's where their MLE should go.

    It is semantics.

Dave Wohl has virtually no power and answers to...... Doc Rivers.

I don't know...it would help his case for sure if the NBA does decide to get rid of Hack-a-shaq. Right now he is arguably the league's best rebounder, the best defensive big, and the best finisher around the rim.

That being said, yes Anthony Davis is probably the best big in the league for the foreseeable future.

How can you say he's the best finisher around the rim when he can only dunk? DJ demonstrates no dexterity at all. He's the best alley-oop finisher/dunker but that's only a small part of finishing around the rim.

I must admit DJ has accomplished more in the NBA than I ever thought possible. He didn't impress me at Texas A&M one bit but he's gone to a new stratosphere in the NBA and is about to snag $100 million.

It's guys like him that make NBA teams use high draft picks on "project" big men.

There's not much the Clippers can do right now. They obviously have to resign DeAndre. Is he worth the max? Maybe not given his offensive limitations(no postup game and can't hit free throws), but he's too important to their defense to let him go.

That pretty much kills any cap space they'd have to bring in quality reserves. Even Austin Rivers may be tough to hang onto(barring a hometown/daddy discount). I think I read somewhere that LA can only pay him a little over 3 mil and it's entirely possible someone out there offers him more than that based on the good games he had this postseason. Shoot, if Jeremy Lin can get the deal he got from the Rockets based on one month of Linsanity in the regular season, Rivers should get a raise too.

They've also got issues with an aging core. Crawford and Barnes are both 35. Paul just turned 30. I believe Redick is also 30. The window is still open for them for now, but by the time the cap goes up and they can bring in some bench help, it may start to close.

What a difference one win makes. This team was heralded as the TEAM. They go on an 0-3 run and now people are questioning (rightfully) if it should be broken up. Jeez, that's pretty intense. The problem isn't the players, it's Coach/GM Rivers. Hey, at least it isn't like Cleveland where LeBron is Coach, GM, and star player... Wait, can Doc still suit up? Go for it. Sign him to a league min contract. Get 'r done Rivers.

They need a less ball dominant pg. They play heroball with cp3. Great for 1 series but not for everything

CP3 is not the problem. He has to play hero ball. They literally have no one else except Blake who could score. Reddick, Crawford and Barnes were all worthless on offense at the end of the series. Plus CP3 was still scoring at a high clip and was shredding the Rockets defense.

The guy needs some scorers who can actually score. Griffin was out of gas at the end of the series and Jordan can only score on lobs. What else was CP3 supposed to do? You can't create shots for people who can't score.

Of course the Clips will never do this, however they should trade Chris Paul now while he still has value, preferably for a top pick (ala Wiggins for Love) or an up-and-coming superstar. The reality is CP3 is a lot like Allen Iverson, he's great for marketing but terrible for winning basketball rings. There's a reason why pgs making the max has never won a ring since forever, they're just too expensive for what they bring to the table.

It's not his fault, CP3 is a fierce competitor and I give him mad props for not playing like he has an injury, however at the end of the day he's still too short, SG/PG hybrids like West Brook/Harden/Wall/DRose would eat him alive esp. now that he grows older he gets even slower and injury prone.

De Andre is fool's gold, he's ok for a stop gap but at the max would be an overpayment, despite being in the league for so long the guy still focuses way too much on 1-on-1 and blocking shots instead of actual paint defense.

Blake Griffin is amazing, and IMHO should already be considered just below Durant and Lebron. Rather than wasting time chasing the CP3 window, the clips should rebuild around BG and get younger dudes who would grow alongside him.

I asked my friend if this was now BG's team since he's been the man all playoffs. I think trading CP3 would be a big gamble. Essentially you're giving up arguably the best PG in the league for what? If you don't hit on great up and coming player, or equal value player that compliments BG better, then why do it?

CP3 makes that team go, unfortunately not go far enough. He makes Jordan look like Wilt/Kemp hybrid, rekindled Reddick's career, and gives Crawford's game meaning. Obviously if you dump CP3, you're probably shedding all the vets who are ring chasing too, so you can invest in young talent and develop a team. Not sure who wants CP3 though. Maybe Sac?

People aay Blake plays better without Cp3. Game 1 showed how good they clicked. Last games CP was just dragging them. Kind of like us with Harden when he mentally checks out, good thing for us is we have a bit more depth

The team without a bench. That's what the media were saying throughout their series with the Spurs.

I dont want to say this because it is the best move for them... but

    let DJ walk
sign Tyson Chandler to half as much
sign Mike Dunleavy Jr. to play small forward

Trade CP3 to the Cavs for Irving.

Lebron's closest friend plays with him, can propel them to the Finals.
    Clips maintain youth with Irving.

    Would y'all do it?

True, but that 6 man rotation was one win away from escaping ridicule all together. Hell, there are still people who are saying the Warriors are happier facing us than the Clips (more to that story, I know, I know). IF they had that lack of depth, but still a ton of assets I think Doc wouldn't be in as bad of a shape as he is. He has no way to improve if they resign DJ until the cap goes up. Even after the cap raise, how much mobility do they really have? Hell, does anybody in the NBA want their pieces outside of the 6 man rotation? Do people want pieces outside of the Clippers big 3 even? Reddick would be great for us, but at what price?...

It makes me giggle looking at this situation, and then reading posts by other members who get on Morey for his asset collecting ways... Just a thought...
