i dont think the mavs have much firepower tbh.... they have dirk and a bunch of 3pt shooters. it seemed a lot against the lakers because dirks matchup problem forced them to play odom more, which took away their twin tower advantage they have against every other team, and the lakers lack of speed in the backcourt, so barea could run wild sucking in the defense then kicking it to open shooters.

who on the mavs can create their own shot other than dirk ? jason terry ? hes a third tier player at best. barea, but hes little and wont be as effective against the thunders speed. oming into the playoffs i thought the mavs biggest weakness was going to be offense because they dont have any guys who can really create.

Mavs have players to match up with him, but that won't be necessary since OKC has someone to hold him back - Westbrook.

another epic series in the western conference. both teams have a superstar scorer, both teams have great depth off the bench, and both teams play great defense.

home court will matter a lot in this series as i think it will go 7 games.

No self respecting Rockets fan could go for the Mavs after the 04-5 playoffs series where the refs handed the Mavs the series. Go Thunder!!

Since when the mavs have become blue? I remember they were green.

    OKC's front court is non-existent

The Thunder are stiff and out of sorts and Dirk is also stroking. OKC is luckier than lucky to be up 1.

Mavs should sign Battier this summer. They need a good perimeter defender.

I'd rather have Corey Brewer work on his shot

One thing for sure: Dallas doesn't have the equivalent of Tony Allen or Shane to put on KD. When Dirk left the floor, OKC had no problem at all defending Dallas' players no matter how crisp and sharp their passing. Let's see what Barea can do.

I thought KD had no handles.

The Mavs are very rusty. Only Dirk seems ready to play.

Does any player make you want to punch him in the face more than Jason Terry?

What about Shawn Marion, he's as tall and lanky and fast as Durant I thought he would've done a better job

With time I have become more appreciative of Dirk's game he's so hard to guard

And does anyone else think the Mavs trainer looks like Dr Sweets from Boner

Interesting substitution pattern by Dallas. They took at Dirk with 3 minutes still left in the 1st quarter. And brought him back in to start the 2nd to play agaist the Thunder bench.
