The only dude that looked soft is Mike Miller. Mike Miller at least can stop wearing a gal's hairdo. After the foul, Mike Miller should bounce up and take a swing at West or wait outside the locker room after the game and take a swing at West. As for West, he's a jerk and nothing changes. $5,000,000 fine and 30 game suspension.
Of course this should be a flagrant foul - otherwise every foul would be this way - and there's simply no room in the game for that type of nonsense. I also agree with the suspension - since it was a retaliation play and a dangerous one at that. If he hit miller like that when the ball wasn't in play, he would be suspended for sure - so why should it be any different here?
It was pretty bad. The league should suspend him just to send a message. If a foul like that is "play on", then things will get ugly on the court really quick. Toss him, suspend him and it won't keep happening. The few times I've seen a hit like that in pick up ball it always starts a fight. NBA players are pretty well behaved in that regard. Yao's taken some cheap shots like this over the years. If anyone thinks West's smack is just tough basketball they must love it when guys like Collison throw Yao to the ground for no reason.
they dont let ufc fighters hit to the back of the head... That was a palm thrust with with some nice torque to the back of the head. Good thing he sucks at aiming and missed and it ended up being an arm bar to the back of the head. David West knows what he's doing. He goes to a boxing gym in the off-season.
100% flagrant. Ejection at discretion of ref, depending on what else happened during the game, situation, etc. No suspension warranted.
I find it so ironic that on NBATV this guy is presented as a this humble quiet guy who just minds his own, but in reality this guy is a punk, trying to intimidate others, pick fights and commit hard fouls.
I Hate David West. He always has a r****ded look on his face like he's hard. The best thing that ever happened to him was getting checked in the back by Robert Horry in last years playoffs and watching him drop like sack of potatoes.
If you were outside playing 5x5 pickup and somebody did that, there'd be a serious fight. Period. You allow hits like that, and someone in the air is going to end up very seriously hurt. Evan

Yah that too. I'm surprised the Wolves players were as cordial as they were. You best believe crap would go down if West did that too any of the Rockets players.
