I think Richards was fortunate... she was a likable candidate that also drew the sympathy of voters from a roough primary, and the GOP candidate was pretty flaky and made a number of mistakes. And even with that, Richards won a close race. Then lost against Bush. I think the redness of the larger portion of Texas, aided greatly by a redistricting will make it really difficult for any Democrat to win here unless the GOP candidate is way way out there on the nut scale.
Sorry to double up... but what about the two Castro brothers... could one of them take a stab at a statewide office and then springboard to a potential Gov or Senate run?
redistricting doesn't matter in this election. its time to get out the young Hispanic vote and permanently take the state.
That is true. Abbott can probably give a rat's ass about abortions and we know this is definitely true of his corporate money men who intend to make a handsome profit off their investment in him like they did with Perry. . But many of the Commodores of the world will vote on this issue.
She was a hag who constantly alienated male voters with her pre written one liners. But she was still a million miles better than the clown she ran against. A man so repugnant, he actually got Texans to hate a billionaire, which isn't easy in this state where poverty is considered a sin and wealth a sign of piety.
You think Ann Richards was a good governor? It would take an even bigger miracle for Wendy Davis to be elected.
I also support killing African Americans and the elderly too, since I support ACA. If you are going to spout your extremist right wing talking points and in the process, sound even more like a blithering idiot, go all out.
Pretty much. She has to strike while the iron is hot. Even losing will elevate her profile as her political career is fairly young. Aren't you in your early 20's? You remember Ann Richards from your early childhood?
