You sure seem to like the taste of Wendy's sac. You know she is going to lose right? Wendy Davis Can’t Get People To Celebrate Anniversary of Her Abortion Filibuster, Now Giving Tickets Away For Free… http://washingtonexaminer.com/wendy...ry-of-her-abortion-filibuster/article/2550043
The funny thing is, here in Arkansas a Democratic governor is the norm and historically it's been extremely rare for a Republican to win the gubernatorial race. However, we're a bright red state when it comes to national elections. It's puzzling at times. We do elect Southern Democrats (who are still anti-gay, pro-guns, etc.) so that sheds a little light.
Arkansas is very christian state and has a good african american voter turnout. If you have a Democrat running for governor that holds traditional Christian beliefs you are a strong candidate. The funny thing is Pryor may be in trouble not because of his Christian views but because of the economy and Obamacare.
Arkansas is just late when it comes to voters transitioning to straight ticket voting. For example, the Mississippi legislature was controlled by Democrats until 2011 and the Alabama legislature was Democratic until 2010. Tennessee had a democratic governor until 2010 as did North Carolina (which also had a Democratic legislature until 2010) Some states in the South (like Florida and Texas) became Republican much faster than others (i.e. Arkansas) There is one key rule about the South. White and African American voters are notoriously inelastic voters. They generally hold allegiance to 1 party except during moments of transition. We are in a moment of transition as the Democrats are finally losing what little grip they have left on the South. We're at the point now that if Republicans pick up statewide offices, they probably aren't going to lose them for a while. So each time a Republican picks up an office like land commissioner or attorney general, its going to stay Republican for a while. Arkansas and West Virginia are in a separate class of states. Both had overwhelming Democratic majorities across every level of government until very recently. In fact, Mark Pryor was considered unbeatable as recently as 2008. (he ran unopposed that year) The collapse of the Democratic party in Arkansas started in 2010 and will be complete with 4 to 6 years. West Virginia is undergoing a similar transition. West Virginia is overwhelmingly Democratic but has started voting like other red states at the presidential level. Now it looks like Republicans will pick off a Senate seat for the first time in decades and the legislature is at risk of becoming Republican for the first time in over 100 years. They are about to experience a Republican takeover that is similar to the one Arkansas is going through. Basic lesson is that in the South, all states are moving towards solid Republican voting. The only exceptions are North Carolina (which never really voted like the rest of the South), Georgia (which is experiencing huge demographic changes that arguably will make it competitive faster than Texas), and Texas (which is still a while away from becoming competitive). Arkansas is just late to the party but the Democratic party there is crumbling. Losing the legislature in 2012 wasn't even the first step. In 2010, Republicans won a Senate seat and three statewide offices (before 2010, Democrats held every single statewide office). Arkansas Democrats are experiencing what Texas Democrats felt in 1998 (when Republicans swept almost every statewide office, including the governorship) and 2002 (when Republicans took the House) The same thing might also happen in Kentucky. Democrats there are possibly on the verge of losing the House as well.
mcmark -- Wendy Davis is a laughingstock in Texas, aside from the LGBTQ and pro-abortion folks. She doesn't have a chance. You may as well be contributing to the John Kerry 2004 campaign fund.
My guess is that Arkansas didn't have a Tom DeLay clone redistricting out of season using IBM's Big Blue.
She is down 12% in Texas polls with a few months left in the election. Still time. Also, How many LGBT and Pro-Choice do you have in Texas?
Always said it was going to be a heavy lift for Wendy. And I have no illusions about the outcome. But it sure is fun to watch the nutters get their panties in a wad.

48-40% _____ Wendy Davis trails Greg Abbott by single-digits in new poll The race for Texas governor is the closest it's been all year. A new Rasmussen poll released Friday shows Democratic candidate Wendy Davis trailing by eight points to Republican Greg Abbott. It's the closest any poll has shown the race. Davis has been trailing by double digits since the start of the year. The poll said 9 percent of voters remain undecided and 3 percent of voters prefer another candidate in the race. Rasmussen officials said they have moved Texas from “Safe Republican” to “Leans Republican” on their 2014 scorecard. link
