Nope, not just a casual fan..... I follow MMA...... But Im not gonna watch NBDL games over NBA games.... The same with UFC and WEC...... ne way.... I think Jake Shields should sign with UFC now that his contract is up with strikeforce... Him and GSP would be one hell of a matchup....Jake being the underdog of course...... He would have to drop some weight but hes a true welterweight anyway... I believe Joe Silva would make it happen....
I wouldn't consider WEC the NBDL of MMA... WEC is the UFC stacked light weight division 155 and below... I know some people think UFC is the only MMA out there but shows like: PRIDE(now defunct), K1, Dream, and Strikeforce are pretty good as well. Only person I see giving GSP a run for his money is Nick Diaz.... Jake doesn't have the chin but his training partner Nick Diaz would be hell for GSP...
If you dont know who aldo and you're a fan of mma, you really should start youtubing and reading about him asap. The kid is truly one of the p4p best fighter in MMA. Not only is he explosive, athletic and strong, his ground skills are supposedly as good as his striking. Oh and i predict aldo by brutal 1st round tko.
The prelim/undercard fights were free on Spike TV. The Jung/Garcia fight is about to start the 3rd round. This is one of the better MMA slugfests I've seen in a while.
Garcia is bad-ass... shades of Faber there fighting with a broken hand. Garcia should win in a close one.
Jung would have won in 5 IMO. But forget about what wouldve happened Garcia won that fight in the 3rd, Jung waited too long to engage in the end.
Garcia was throwing haymakers. If his striking was any better Jung would've been done. But I agree that Garcia won in the 3rd. I think Jung was gassing a bit in the 3rd whereas Garcia got his 2nd wind. Jung was the better/more precise striker. Hell of a fight either way. Probably the craziest fight I've seen since that Guida/Sanchez fight last summer. One thing's for sure : I know why they call that guy the Korean Zombie now. He's a beast. Nothing stopped him from advancing and showing emotion until the fight was over. It was nuts.

Aldo is a beast, Faber the most dominating feather of all time(will prolly change tonight tho) Henderson is the real deal. Cerrone although losing tonight is a very good fighter. You should watch these guys a little more closely

Ok the awwhh is over, I found some more words. This was one of the best cards of all time and easily the best card I have seen lately.. And I have seen them all. The entire event was exciting, I feel honored to have watched it. Aldo is definitely a top p4p fighter. Soares team is absolutely amazing now that I think about it.. Anderson Silva Machida Aldo Nog Soares must be loaded rich managing all of those fighters. BTW, anyone notice that they did not mention WEC once the entire event? Each time they would refer to it, it would be 'organization' or some other word. Even when announcing the belt it was without the WEC, also there wasnt a single logo of WEC anywhere. In the cage, on the shorts or even on the MIC. Even further also it seems they changed the name to just Aldo vs Faber and took out the entire WEC. ALSO did anyone notice they called the lw title after Benson defended it and before the match 'The Lightweight Championship of the World'.. Is that an insult to Edgar? I don't get it, there can't be two 'Lightweight Champions of the World'. Sounds to me a merger is about to occur and the UFC is about to convert the bantams/feathers ect. into their org. It will spice things up and make the UFC more exciting, the little guys are alot more versatile and fun.
