My fiancé' son is the lead guy on Harden's NBAvote campaign... They have a lot of NBAvote videos surfacing via social media. So hopefully that helps his votes tally..
Lavine ahead of Wiggins seems kind of random to me. And I'm guessing the Ginobili votes are Spurs fans who want to see him in the ASG as part of his farewell tour.
Was going to post Harden is closer to 1st (starting) than 3rd (not-starting). Should be 1st, but 2nd still works, in this case. Gordon gonna have a hard time. Guard-position is so stacked. Coaches' vote is his best bet.
ugh..the more that comes out of the media and the players' votes the more it looks like they are MORE biased than fans. Now the hack Isola revealed he will be on the panel and vote for only NY guys. Who knows what else this idiot will vote for the west. Probably only guys who he's friendly with. Why they chose such idiots to be a part of the voting? At least the fans exept for 1 or 2 players each year, they vote for those who are worthy. The players and some of the media seem to vote only based on personal relationships. Let's see how many votes CP3 the president of the NBPA gets now.
Seriously. If they wanted to avoid the Zaza/Yao/Lin issue, they could have just given GM's the chance to vote but not allowed to vote for their own and not allowed to publicize it. Then equate they vote to some % of the tally. But I suppose this is a reflection of the reality that fans are not as important as they used to be to the NBA's business model. Sponsors and owners must have lobbied for a stronger hand in these choices, and they blamed it on Zaza lol
All star voting is always a popularity contest. look at the obvious non all star in the East Voting getting lots of votes. http://www.nba.com/article/2017/01/12/2017-all-star-ballot-second-returns-official-release Guards 1 Kyrie Irving (CLE) 971,362 2 Dwyane Wade (CHI) 514,866 3 DeMar DeRozan (TOR) 453,538 4 Isaiah Thomas (BOS) 401,671 5 Kyle Lowry (TOR) 256,668 6 Derrick Rose (NY) 223,804 7 John Wall (WAS) 173,148 8 Jeremy Lin (BKN) 109,088 9 Kemba Walker (CHA) 105,637 10 Avery Bradley (BOS) 64,157
All-star voting is still broken, but the only thing that is broken is who starts. No one is going to vote for zaza. If Curry and Paul end up starting the coaches will still choose Harden and Westbrook to come off the bench. The only problem is that they don't start. Zaza doesn't take away a roster spot from Kawhi or Davis either which is the most important thing. Whoever starts it's whatever as long as they are a for sure all star. The problem comes when unworthy players make the all star game like Kobe did the past couple of seasons. That problem should be erased now, but who knows. Maybe Kobe still gets a roster spot because media and players alike respect Kobe and want to see him play and obviously the fans vote for him. Idk anymore. I just realized it's not important to dwell on anymore. Coaches will always respect Harden and as long as he is still playing at a high level then he will make the game.
A playa like lin has more votes then Kemba? damn some of these homies voting are smoking some good stuff
LOL at ZAZA(what is this name, like a chainsaw cutting sound?) second after durant in west front court, if he makes the all star starters, they might as well cancel the all star game, what's the point, every single GSW fans are just brain washed and voting for their own players
Kinda like the time China voted in TMac while he was injured? Starting in the ASG has always been a popularity contest.
at least Tmac has played like an All Star for some years, we can still give him some love even if he is retiring just like Kobe, but ZAZA? Come on, a career backup and scrub coming off the bench
Amazing the quality of guards in the West that CJ McCollumn and Mike Conley can't even crack the top 10 in voting. TBH, Gordon at #7 is pretty impressive. And he is gaining on Lillard.
zaza likely isn't going to fall out of the voting but thankfully fan voting doesn't count as much anymore so he won't make it in the end.
